I have been a member of GHFC for more years than I can remember. My visits and experiences have been great. GHFWC is close to my home and offers what I need.

I love it here! It's so clean and smells so nice and the location is perfect. I've been to a lot of gyms in Gainesville and this one is the cleanest. I just wish it were bigger and had more focus on weights than cardio equipment. Staff is really friendly and nice. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is because it needs (solely my opinion) a more thoughtful layout and variety of strength building items. They did get a hip thrust machine but the ROM on it is the worst, no one likes it so the smith machine is still the most used for thrusts....and there is only one smith machine. It would also be nice to see another type of leg press machine than is currently available. Besides that, the members are nice and there is a great locker room and access to group classes. Highly recommend!

It’s a great gym. It can get annoyingly crowded right before and right after work. I think it’s still worth it. I don’t like the limited hours at the women’s gym and wish they had childcare before work 6-7am would be great. Staff try to keep ppl satisfied.

Clean and neat; well equipped; excellent and motivating group fitness classes. Oh, and sauna and spa are the dessert after a workout feast!

I had the last of many frustrating experiences at the Women’s center and won’t be back. I went to a free weight machine and started to use it and one of the staff members approached me and told me I couldn’t use it because another member would need it shortly. That member was at another machine actively using it. I chose this machine because they put green cards all over the other ones to hold them for the same members that are using other machines at the time. I politely tried to discuss the situation with the staff member and she told me I could use other machines that I never use and then walked away while I was mid-sentence and stood there with her hands behind her back looking in another direction. It was rude and it was awkward, so much so that another staff member who was close by was kind enough to acknowledge what I was saying and apologized for the lack of space and machines at the center. I am frustrated that as a paying member, I am frequently blocked by staff from machines that aren’t being used, I have seen them sit there for up to 10/15 minutes without anyone using them. I have tried to work around it and continue coming to a place that is comfortable because it’s only women, but today I was actually pulled off an unused machine and treated very disrespectfully. I give this center two stars for the cleanliness and the quality of the equipment but if you want to lift weights this is not the place to go unless you pay extra money for the staff to reserve and guard machines for you.
