Sensei Juan & the entire class was very welcoming for my first visit. It can be intimidating walking into a new dojo but they welcomed me very warmly. The quality & level of instruction is very high and they take their time to make sure you understand each movement & get to practice it over & over to perfect it.I highly recommend this dojo & SenseiJuan & look forward to continued education, community & physical activity.

Let me begin with, that I lost more weight in two weeks than what could my on my own in two months. Sensei Juan Montenegro is known throughout the Judo community not only for being one of the best, but also for being one of the oldest in the game as well. He creates a learning environment where everyone not only welcomes you but also helps you grow your judo game. Sensei Juan himself will train among you. I was shocked by how much support there was from this school as a new arrival. The adult classes are phenomenal, there's always someone there to help you, you won't go a single class without a partner. Best decision I've made post pandemic. I can see myself here for a very long time

Sensei Juan creates a fun learning environment. As an adult practioner it is nice to go to a place where competition is encouraged but not the sole purpose of practice. If competition is your speed, there are more than enough skilled judokas should you want to have a more intense experience.

OC Judo with Sensei Juan is amazing!!! It's like a friendly fun family atmosphere comitted to personal growth and development, never any judgment or any negativity at all. I am thankful that I found this dojo and that I am able to train here as much as I can. Thank you Sensei Juan!!

This is an amazing experience for the kids. This place is wonderful. The Sensais are some of the most patient, and kind people I have ever met. The students learn incredibly fast here, and the praise and reinforcement has no equal. My daughter attends here and loves it. The students encourage each other a lot. Give it a try, I think you will like it.

I've trained a lot of places both judo and bjj, I happened to find OC Judo while I was stationed in Camp Pendleton, so not wanting to drive to my own club in LA every time I had off, I googled judo schools near me and I went in and absolutely enjoyed every minute I spent there trained, Sensei Juan is very technical and will break down every technique so you can understand. Very nice and easy going environment with a good competitive side that I enjoyed. I used to drive 1 hour and 30min in dead stop traffic to make it to class that's how much I enjoyed it.

My girls have been in Judo for a year now and they love it. The senseis at OC Judo are great with the kids. They teach them discipline, respect, and honor. My girls are excited when we tell them it is time to go to Judo. If you are looking for something for your kids to do that is fun but they are also learning I highly suggest OC Judo.

After many years out of Judo, I am very happy to have signed back up at Orange County Judo Training Center (OCJTC) under the head instruction of Sensei Juan Montenegro. What I have always enjoyed about this club is the ability to teach all levels from someone who just wants to learn the art, someone who wants to get in shape, or someone who wants to compete a high national level. The club is full of world class athletes from around the world which brings a very well-rounded set of Judo players. The children's program is also very good and teaches great discipline and technique (always good to learn how to fall)... it is a lot of fun for the kids and the parents have a good time watching. There is plenty of seating for people to watch right next to the mats... There is also free WIFI so parents can get work done and multitask. This Judo club is also a family... there are many get togethers, pizza after Friday workouts (long standing tradition of going out Friday after a great workout).I can't say enough good things about this Judo club and the amount of respect for the people who run it... proof is in the pudding... stop by anytime to watch or workout. The investment is very affordable and well worth it.
