I was already on the verge of canceling my membership within a month. The constant crowd and the filthy men's locker room bathrooms were off putting. The frustration peaked this morning when, in a rush to work out, so I can start my work day. Staff insisted on a profile picture. Which I get, it’s part of their job! Moving to a different desk added annoyance, and the staff's questions about the scanner and IDs felt like an unnecessary interrogation. The overall customer service made the gym unwelcoming, confirming my decision not to return.

Overall the gym isn’t bad. What is bad, is the attitudes of the older man and women in the front on this day today 12/20. Completely disrespectful and lack any form of customer service. All because we didn’t have a picture on file when we scanned. They kept moving us from computer to computer and from the front to the back, demanding we “go there” “go here.”Some people have to work and have limited time to be at the gym let alone wait for them to get it together to take a simple picture. Pictures became a whole interrogation as if it isn’t us who’s paying monthly for my membership. He asked where did we sign up like he doesn’t have a whole system right in front of him. We were asked for ID’s and when we said we didn’t bring them in with us, the older man would shake his head.Very uninviting, uncomfortable and rude. We’ll look for better gym options

I brought all my family to Shererville YMCA when the schedule shows “family swimming” on app. However, there were swimming classes on the family swimming area. The front desk officer doesn’t even know there is a swim class. So, I wasted about 1hour for nothing. Thanks for ur worse communication and inaccurate information.

MANAGEMENT is a joke. Specifically the manager with long blonde hair that roams the gym area. Because why did I get kicked out for wearing shoes that weren’t even open toed a few weeks ago, but a girl in here can lift with Uggs on? 😂😂😂 LOL discriminatory much? How incompetent can you be really? Also, not related but this place is always dirty.

As a nationwide member, it was awesome to be able to use their pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub while I traveled to the area. The staff is very nice. The dressing room is spacious. The cleaning crew is visible. Tons of filtered water fountains to refill my water bottle. It’s a shame that with the lifeguard shortage both pools aren’t usually ope together all day.

I was discouraged when I heard it was switched from Omni to YMCA solely because I felt like it was going to get more crowded. I ended up going for a tour early in the day and even then the gym seemed pretty full. I was truly disappointed to see they got rid of the Women’s area and that now there are actually hours for the pool, which I find somewhat ridiculous when you’re paying for a membership and people work different hours. They say it’s because there needs to be a lifeguard on duty at all times but I don’t recall Omni ever having lifeguards so…When it switched over from Omni to YMCA, I made sure we had a membership so my sons could sign up for the classes like swimming and Little Ninjas that this facility offers. There are so few options for classes, then the ones that they claim are open on the website end up having a waitlist when you select it. I am so frustrated with paying $60 a month and my children can’t do anything at this facility. I don’t see the point of keeping a membership at this point because I would have to drive a half hour to go to one of the other YMCAs just for my sons to attend classes. And as you can see, many other reviewers are saying the same things about it being crowded, equipment is broken, the new pool hours, and the fact they got rid of the women’s area, so I might be looking into another workout facility. They need to bring Omni back.

If I could give the gym 10 stars I would. I have fallen in love with the cycling classes conducted by JoJo. I have attended her classes faithfully for months now and I see so many changes. I am building definition in my legs and arms and I ride so much better than when I started. Super thankful for her positive words of encouragement and how she pushes us to be better. YMCA - JoJo, is the only reason why I continue to come to this gym. I am now addicted to cycling.

I love their classes. I love their steam room. I love the atmosphere. I love the environment. Great place to be for exercise, walking the track, eating healthy and just relaxing meeting new people.

My wife and I had an issue with our kids at the summer camp this year(2023) that appeared to be very disheartening. We reached out to the "Y" about it and although they were a bit slower than we preferred, we are especially pleased with the sensible and reasonable response that was provided. Sarah showed up with her game face on and resolved the issue of concern! It is because of this that we've decided to maintain our relationship with the YMCA altogether. She has a strong desire to do what is right and necessary7/12

Nice facility and gym. Has a tone of amenities. But they need to improve the wifi, and put some signs up in the weightlifting room... the cell service, and wifi in the gym is bad, so it's near impossible to listen to music and work out, or even do some youtube, email, work while on the treadmill. Also the members in the gym room are alot of teenagers, and people in general with no gym etiquette ie. there is alot of equipment being used as "texting machines", and a lot of weights and equipment are not being put back, also just alot of other stuff stupid teenage boys would do. Definitly need some "no phone while sitting on equipment" sign or something.
