My family was very happy here until some school activities and city construction prevented us from getting to in person classes on time. We paid for an entire year upfront because of a discounted rate for doing so. Now that we can't get to class I asked for a refund on our unused tuition only to be told that they're a small business and don't issue refunds. We never agreed to these terms and evidence that we did can't be provided to us yet they still refuse to issue a refund.Definitely buyer beware with this company. They promote focusing on building the whole person but clearly they skip over the ethical part...

My son is very energetic and sometimes forgets to follow directions and pay attention. This has put some conflict with his schooling and learning. I did a lot of research on things that can help (besides the old school recommendation of therapy or “medication”). I read how martial arts can help children with respect, focus, and also obviously being able to defend yourself. All three of those sounded great to me! After his first couple of classes he didn’t want to go back and was overall really nervous. I decided he needed to give it more of a try and I’m so glad I did. He agreed to do 4 classes and now every Monday and Wednesday after school he can’t wait to go and learn new skills and show them off! He has been in the “mini warrior” training class for a little over two months now and so far I have seen such growth and improvement in all areas. I am SO SO proud of him and where he has come already! Thankful for the support and patience from all the sensei’s.HIGHLY RECOMMEND more than one class for trial. It’s so important to stick with it, it’s okay to get frustrated - it will get better. And of course - STAY ON YOUR GOAL! 😊

The staff at Total Self Defense are knowledgeable, super-friendly, and amazing with kids. Not only does my 5-year-old have a total blast learning self defense, the class is completely entertaining for the parents to watch as well. The kids learn respect for themselves and others, anti-bullying and anti abduction techniques, and how to be a responsible "hero at home".Sensei Blue is infinitely patient and engaging. You just have to see for yourself!

Such a great, family atmosphere to train in. The senei’s legitimately care about their students, not only in the dojo, but at home and school too. They train and mentor the whole person.
