Downtown Hartford YMCA offers a comprehensive fitness experience in the heart of Hartford, CT. With state-of-the-art equipment, an Olympic-sized pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub, it caters to a wide range of fitness needs. The facility is well-maintained, and the welcoming staff ensures a positive atmosphere. Convenient for early birds, it opens as early as 5 AM on weekdays. However, the gym closes early at 7 PM, which might be restrictive for some commuters.
While the facility excels in cleanliness and modernity, it comes at a high membership price. Some issues like mandatory reservations for amenities and a lack of family locker rooms remain areas for improvement. Despite these concerns, Downtown Hartford YMCA stays a solid choice for those seeking a well-equipped and friendly fitness center.

I give it a 1 because it's nothing like the old YMCA across from Bushnell Park. They used to rent rooms....And they got away from that with the new YMCA

My favorite place ever to work out ! To expensive! I recommend going to get a membership at any other YMCA cause it's $50 cheaper then you can still frequent the down town location as much as you like! You pay $30 for membership at all the other YMCA facilities you pay $70 at this YMCA! Hands down clean state of the art equipment! But really to expensive!

Not my favorite Y. You have to make reservations for almost everything. And the older black dude at the front desk isn't the most pleasant person to speak with. With his fake smile and condescending personality. Other than that it looks nice.

I'm a new member to this gym and greatly appreciate the updated equipment, quietness in the mornings, and amazing cleanliness. It's great to have a gym right here in downtown Hartford that has a steam room, sauna, and hot tub. Great way to wind down after any gym sesh!

I love this place! I go there for the pool, the sauna and steam room. Very well maintained place. Front desk staff are always greeting people with friendly and smiling faces; I feel welcome and my worries sort of melt away just by walking through those doors. Keep up the good spirit!

They've managed to fit alot into a small space. However they don't have a family locker room which I find to be inconvenient as a woman with a young son whose just a year too old to be allowed to go in the woman's locker room with me.

New equipments, renovated building interior. Would be more convenient if they didn’t close early. 7pm on a weekday is not enough for a commuter

Been coming here for a few years to take my children to swimming classes. The instructors and lifeguards are wonderful! Not sure if they are getting the recognition they deserved. Some parents give them a hard time for being low in staff but things happen...which is why I will continue to bring my children to the classes. Its worth it
