If you want to teach your kids discipline, self respect, and confidence this is the place for you. From the first time you meet Mr. Rico he sets the standard for his studio that will follow you home. My kids look forward to their classes every week.

My 9 year old daughter has been attending Rico's Martial Arts for about 4 months now and I cannot say enough good things about this organization. They emphasize respect for yourself and others, discipline, and physical activity. The teachers / coaches are amazing young men and women who set a wonderful example for the kids. My daughter looks up to each and every one of them. I have seen a transformation in my child since she has been a part of RMA. She is more respectful at home and the discipline they have taught her extends to all areas of her life. She attends both the summer camp and the regular classes and my husband and I are extremely happy with our experience.

Mr. Rico is all about money. We needed to stop classes and prepaid for our two children for the month at $300. He charged us an additional $300 to stop coming to class. $600 for no service. He charges $65 to test every three months and everyone passes. He charges over $100 for uniforms. He has your children chant about the holiday sale. It is terrible. If you want your children to learn martial arts, go to someone who cares about them learning and isn't just running a money mill. I could not be less satisfied. STAY AWAY.

Our children recently attended Rico's academy. Our experience left us very disappointed. Having been involved in Martial arts, I was surprised at the cost $300/ month, mandatory kimonos $100, and the requirement to buy the (rarely used) equipment he sells. Testing is conducted every other month at a cost of nearly 70$ per child. These promotions are not performance based and appear only to serve as a means of additional revenue for the buisiness. Our children were not enjoying the training and we elected to stop attending. We prepaid monthly and attended one class within the first week. Mr. Rico charged us for all of the month (30 termination notification, required) and then charged my family for the following month rather than prorate the charge. In all, we paid $600 for one class over the span of 2 months. Upon brining this to his attention he was unwilling to see that this was unreasonable and well outside the spirit of the language in his contracts.I feel that these business dealings are unethical and should be considered before you decide to bring your business to him. If you are interested in martial arts for your children please consider other schools. This is more a for-profit business than it is a martial arts academy.

Our son Noah has been attending Rico's Martial Arts for over a year. When he started he was very nervous. Now he is way more confident and outgaoing. He loves all of the teachers. Mr. Rico and his staff are so good with the kids and very patient. You would never know some of the coaches are teenagers who are a very good example for all of the kids, showing them how hard work and determination pay off.

Very hard working team of professionals who treat you as family and teach our children how to respect one another while also teaching them how to gain strength, sportsmanship, self awareness, and self defense. All of the staff/teachers are extremely knowledgeable and my 16 year old comes home exhausted but very happy. Would give higher rating if possible.

Fun Place for the kids. Master Rico makes it lots of fun for both parents and kids. Keeps everyone involved. Karate is a great tool for kids who need a little extra help with focus and get their energies out. Highly recommended.

I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and Mr. Rico is worth ever dollar. I chose martial arts for my child so that she would not only know how to defend herself, but to develop her into a leader. Being a leader was my biggest corcern. I visited numerous gyms and spoke with many instructers, to include the two gyms I train martial arts at. Mr. Rico was without question the best choice for a child. Mr. Rico gives kids tools be be leaders. Don't just take my word, come to a class, and you be the judge. A co-worker referred me, after 10 minutes of speaking with him I signed my child up. What he provides kids is invaluable! Gibron S

My experience with Rico's Martial Arts Studio has led me to believe that Tae Kwan Do is Korean for "Let's see how much money we can squeeze out of our members before they quit."Their turnover rate is very high due to all of the hidden fees associated with attending class there. From mandatory uniform changes with outrageously priced clothing($50 for kids shorts), to overpriced mandatory equipment, to advancing students 1/2 belt at a time so you have to pay double for each rank increase, these guys know all the tricks.I would only recommend this place if you are a recent lottery winner or if you don't mind feeling like you are getting robbed 3 times a week.Aside from that, I found the program to be satisfactory.
