Best Gym Out There 🔥 …

author-img

If you are looking for grass roots boxing technique and foundation then this is the gym you want to be a part of. There is no cutting corners here just like the “old way”. Coach Donis has the ability to start you from scratch and build you up. By far the best I’ve seen here in the city. He has a level of understanding to the sport that is hard to re create. Weather you want to compete or just get in shape I would encourage anyone to stop by and try it out. It truly does become addicting once you start to see and feel the progression yourself. 5 out of 5 stars for the gym and 5 out of 5 stars for the person that he is. Best decision I have made in my adult life.

My kids and I are new to Houston and my son said he wanted to box. I found Coach D and could tell my son would benefit from having a coach like him in his life. I can tell he really cares about the kids and wants to see every one of them win as long as they want it for themselves. I look forward to seeing my son’s progress with coach D.

Went there to see how it was, he just made me do strength and conditioning, was acting like i was a spy from another gym or something. I wasn’t able to gauge if I would be able to learn more about boxing there because he just had some kid “teach” me how to do calisthenics. Anyway I paid for the membership anyway. I really felt nothing but negativity from him as he asked me “ come on man tell me why you really want to box… “. Sounded a lot like hate to me. Followed up by telling me that I was just mimicking boxing . And also that I was too old to compete and that it was a win win for me as if I lost in the ring sparring it wouldn’t matter as I was just an old guy, and if I won it be the old guy beating up the youngsters” to be clear I was only 29. And had already been training for two years and was in the best shape of my life. I was on the wrong route as a youngster and was making a last ditch attempt to accomplish my dreams as competing legitimately as a boxer. I wasn’t starting from scratch and the goal was attainable as I had already been training with other pros and amateurs and was getting plenty of great feed back . I’d say he’s a dream killer, and stuck in his outdated ways. Does he have boxing knowledge, yea sure, he does teach a great fundamentals program, but what good does that do if he demotivates you. Bernard Hopkins last fight was at 50 yrs old and if I’m not mistaken he started very late as well. PAC man was beating young champions in his 40’s. And more and more MMA guys are competing into their 40’s.. as a coach, you should do nothing but inspire everyone to reach their fullest potential. Not be sloppy and shoot down peoples dream’s because you don’t have a proper understanding of what’s possible. Houston Texas has real deal striking coaches but this ain’t it and neither is Katy boxing. Go somewhere else .

Having been wanting to get into boxing for a while, I couldn’t have chosen a better place to start! Coach Donis’ mantra is “If you never give up on yourself, I will never give up on you”He is willing to work with you as long as you put in the same effort. He has the experience to back it up too, having spent 33 years in the sweet science. After spending a month at his gym, I have been making progress in learning the fundamentals and it’s all thanks to his support. His gym has a great vibe to it too and everyone there treats each other like family, willing to give pointers when needed.

I can not describe the impact this coach/gym has had on my son. We experienced a loss in family and it has become an outlet for my son. The coach is amazing and my son leaves there with a healthy attitude and love for this place.

Coach Donis is by far, if not, the best coach I've ever had, and the best coach one could ever ask for. Despite only being at this academy for over a month now, I've already learned so much from him about what it takes to be a great, passionate fighter, and how to become your very best when things are the hardest. Coach Donis pays attention to every mistake you make and corrects them in a very encouraging way, and is always looking out for your welbeing. If you're wanting to self improve drastically while also becoming an incredible fighter, then I highly recommend going to Coach Donis' academy.

Fantastic boxing coach! He breaks down everything step by step to make it easy to understand. He really takes the time to work with my schedule and has helped improve my technique beyond what I thought I was capable of. 10/10 would recommend
