Super pleased with my experience! From the initial phone conversation with Zack and the follow up texts messages with both him and Alyssa to the in person assessments and personal training program....I have been impressed the whole way through. Supportive, understanding, enthusiastic and in general awesome to work with. I would highly recommend training with this gym.

Socal Powerlifting is a really nice and convenient gym! As a student, fitting in a workout is already a challenge in itself but the school gyms are almost always crowded and waiting for equipment makes training even more difficult. Socal provides not only the freedom to train whenever, their equipments are super high quality and well maintained! Not tomention how nice the staff are and it's a very welcoming gym overall!

This powerlifting focused gym is located in irvine in a business center and is 24/7 facility.Although advertised primarily as a coaching center for powerlifters, the facility is also open to anyone, no restrictions (you do not have to opt in for coaching nor have to be competing in powerlifting meets) so all skill levels are welcome! The facility itself has an abundance of equipment, meaning you will never catch yourself waiting for a bench, rack, or weights. The powerlifting area has rows of combo racks and squat racks, with an assortment of bars (DL, squat, safety, trap, power, etc) with loads of calibrated kilo plates, lb plates, and bumper plates. They also have fun toys such as specialty equipment like the MAG grip, black widow, arm blaster, belt squat, and more! The socal powerlifting community itself and the powerlifters here are a delight to train alongside with. None are snobby nor egotistical, everyone here is dedicated and represents the heart of the powerlifting community.

Honestly the best gym I've ever been to. The vibe is only happy and the people are only welcoming. The coaches go beyond their way to make you feel like you're part of their community and in turn just makes everyone happy to be there. 100% would recommend to anyone to check this place out.

Where do I begin? Out of the 12 years of training at commercial gyms I’ve never felt such a positive community. I wasn’t sure how I would fit in considering I’m not a powerlifter, but everyone welcomed me with open arms. I emailed the manager and within 15 minutes he replied back. This hasn’t been the first time either. The manager was so professional when I signed up. Of course, he asked if I needed a trainer, it’s a business, but he definitely didn’t try to push things on me. He asked me what my goals were, listened, and knew from my answers that I wasn’t in the market for it. I can’t say enough positive things about this place, the atmosphere, people, and how well kept it is. Worth every single dollar!

I’ve been with SoCal Powerlifting for almost 2 months now and it’s been great. Alex B. has been taking helping me make great progressions on all my lifts. Back squats and Deadlifts have felt smoother. Starting to enjoy Bench now too since I can actually do it with no more shoulder problems.Honestly can’t wait to see what the future holds and glad to be a part of this community.

This review is for the open gym so I can't comment on the coaching.Great, no-nonsense gym. Facilities have basically everything you could possibly want for lifting: kilo plates, competition bars, lots of combo racks, GHR, belt-squat, etc. Everyone is here to lift seriously and progress so it's a good environment if you care about powerlifting. Though, the gym is more oriented to having coaching clients, not necessarily being just a gym.The open gym price is a bit higher than expected and requires you to sign a contract with cancellation fees (comparing to Socal gyms with no contract: Zoo Culture, OC Strength Club, and Boss Barbell). That being said, such well-equipped gyms are few and far between so if that's what they gotta do to stay afloat then so be it.

If you are trying to get strong this is the place to train. They got everything you need for strength training and all the equipment seems to be really nicely taken care of. Everyone here is trying to get their workouts in and leave no more people hanging out on racks and making you stand around like you look lost and the people I bumped into seem to all be real nice and humble even though they lift superhuman like weights. As of now this is in my opinion the best gym to train at.

My wife has been going to this gym for about a year, and has seen some major progress in her lifting. The coaches have an excellent way of breaking things down to help people understand how to make their lifts more efficient. I decided to join this gym and so far, I have been loving the atmosphere and coaching. It has been helpful and I am excited to see where I'm at in a few months!

Every time I travel to the LA area I have to make the drive down to this gym. Best equipment you could possibly imagine for a powerlifting environment and incredible environment to be a part of. You have people just starting out and others who are extremely talented in what they do. The people couldn’t be nicer from coaches to the members. Highly recommended if you’re serious about improving.
