First, the good:- This looks to be a really well-maintained facility with seemingly friendly staff. I would give them 5 stars off the bat. The concept is neat and compelling. Definitely something plenty of people will benefit from! The location is great, too, as it is right off main streets. My wife (who was the one who attended) enjoyed it for what it was while she was still physically capable of attending.Next, the bad:- It is not cheap nor affordable for most people. Unless they are offering other pricing to people (which would not be inclusive, so I would hope and assume not), it is ~$127 per month as I am writing this. Three times a week is about $10 per session. Pricey compared to other options out there; one can build their own for well under $1,500 a year. To each their own, though! Loss of half a star for being pricey.- The hours are not convenient for many people. Lunch hours from 1-4 are closed which is inconvenient. Many other places give you those middle lunch hours which is helpful. Loss of half a star.Lastly, the ugly:- The normal staff cannot do anything regarding cancellations; it must come from a manager. They will push hard to make you come in to cancel (which, to their credit, might persuade someone to stick around for another month or two if they are already there), but if you try over the phone, only the manager can do this. The manager I finally got a hold of only worked 4 hours on Monday (2 in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon; fantastic schedule if you ask me!); doesn’t seem like a great way to help out your customers by only being available such a limited amount of time. Again, we should have been pushier, but it shouldn’t be that hard to get into contact with someone or cancel (especially for the price we were paying) IMO. Loss of half a star.- They locked my wife into a 6-month subscription and told her there was no way out as she did not qualify for one of the two main reasons for canceling the subscription early (permanent disability or death). If we were to move away (which we have now done) or she had other health issues that were not recognized as a full disability (i.e. mental health issues, other ailments, pregnancy/postpartum, etc) those do not count so too bad so sad for us. Buyer beware.-They did not explain the terms to my wife very well so once the 6 months was up, they continued her month to month. This is technically on us as I normally handle the bills and it was in the terms and conditions she signed. Hence, I am not taking away any stars for being irate when it is actually our fault. The part I am disappointed in is that the 6-month term and the month-to-month (M2M) was the same price (I verified this just now with my bank statements). So, if you sign up (a word to the wise): only sign up for the month to month so that if you tweak your hip or have some non-disability or death reason show up in your first month, you aren’t locked in for $635. Loss of half a star.In summary: The workouts seemed great and fun, the staff is fairly knowledgeable, and the facilities are great. However, if you dig a little deeper than the surface, the hours are not convenient for many, the management style/effort is minimal (likely on purpose), the “savings” for a longer term is bait and switch, and the contract is tactfully designed to minimize the attention on what one is signing up for (to be expected this day and age, but sad that it is predatory). It feels like they lure you in with a free workout, then lock someone in who is hyped up on feeling better after a workout and thinking about what they need to do later that day/evening rather than a contract; just read the contract very, very carefully before signing up... For me, it toes the line of ethical, but each person needs to make that choice for themselves. Hopefully, this review stays up here instead of being deleted as it is an honest review.

Alright, let’s jump in! 9-round fitness. Is circuit fitness training. It’s 9 rounds of circuits at 3 mins each with a 30-second break in between. There’s a coach present who will guide, motivate and encourage you during your 30 minute workout. Each round is a different circuit and the exercises change every day. The first round is always cardio and the last round is core training. The other rounds consist of kicks, punches, weights and so much more. You should come to a class – the first one is free!I truly enjoyed my experience. My first class was the hardest! 😩 But it was still fun. The coach gave me an overview of every round, to ensure I understood the exercises. I think it helped that I was familiar with some of the basic moves from turbo kickboxing such as jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, roundhouse kicks, etc… but even if you aren’t familiar with the exercises they are easy to learn. I liked that the facility is smaller than a normal gym because it felt more personable.I’m looking forward to focusing on my form, stance, and ensuring I am throwing a punch or kick correctly. I also want to master the speed bag! As I practice more, I want to gain muscle, becoming more proficient in the exercises and continue having fun. I truly believe once you find something you enjoy, it’s easier to workout because it doesn’t feel like a chore. While I don’t enjoy every circuit, I love that after 3 mins I get to move on and do a different exercise. So, cheers to me on my boxing fitness journey!

I've been going to 9Round Addison since they opened in June 2019 and I highly recommend this place! I've never stayed with the same workout facility for so long. I used to get bored with my workouts but not with 9Round. The workouts change daily and the trainers assist and challenge you...and those pad drills! I can't say enough about 9Round!

Update - Feb 2023If you are looking for a consistent but something different daily workout, this place is for you! The trainers are great and the workout is always simple yet challenging. I've been coming in a few times a week since joining in 2020, which is always a positive way to end my workday. Can't recommend this gym enough due to the no class times and flexibility of the workouts.Update - Feb 2022I joined in Oct 2020 and I'll still say it was one of my best decisions of 2020. It's become a strong part of my daily routine and I miss it when I am not able to go for a few weeks. The great part of this program is that it's easy to slip right back in by just showing up. The owner and trainers are still amazing and are a key reason I have stuck with this program for over a year. I have made it to over 200 workouts and aiming for 300.Original - Jan 2021I have been going for a little over 2 months now and it's one of my best decisions during 2020. It's a great quick workout at any time I want, which is a no-excuse accepted reason to stop. I've never been one to stick with a workout routine or gym as consistently as I have with 9Round. The owner and trainers are awesome and motivating.
