Great place to train. The more you come to class, the better you will get at it just like any good school. It's sambo, so it's a lot more throwing than a regular bjj class. Which I like way better than most school. We have 10 inch judo mats and they're very nice to get thrown on. They do offer striking classes as well. The mats are cleaned out everyday and it is a very sanitary place to train. This is a huge plus because grappling can create a lot of germs and infections. After striking class, students wipe down and clean their gears to help keep the germs away from the class. For beginners usually we go over basics like learning how to fall, how to be a good partner, and how to play-spar properly to maximize your skills. The school has a crash mat that provides an additional cushion when you're just starting out. The people are nice and helpful. The atmosphere is casual and relax in the beginning. Near the end of class, we shake hands to show respect. The main instructor Skip can train you towards the world class level since he's been around world class fighters himself and knows the process of becoming one.

I have been training with Skip off and on for years, and he is a great guy! I have been to other clubs but prefer the atmosphere here, it is laid back but the material covered is excellent and Skip is great at explaining the techniques and showing variations so that you can figure out which one works best for you. The club members are all positive guys who don't bring an ego, so no one should ever feel intimidated to show up regardless of skill level or athleticism. Very welcoming of new members!

I took the Women's Self Defense class offered. It was very informative & hands on. They covered a lot of useful information over the course of 2 hours. I gained confidence in being able to defend myself if ever needed, the instructors did a great job encouraging us while we were practicing & also helped us when we needed adjusting. They made me feel more confident in possible uncomfortable situations. It was a GREAT introduction to Women's Self Defense! I would love to continue to take more classes & would DEFINITELY refer my friends to the class. My Son has been training here for almost 3 years, he loves it & respects Skip with his whole heart! We started my son here because he was painfully shy, in the last year we've learned he has Sensory Processing & that's why he is so painfully shy Skip has given him confidence to be able to speak when needed & now when he is struggling we just talk about how he is in Martial Arts & that boosts him up to be able to do tasks. He's learning great skills & building confidence in himself. He's always so excited & proud when he's learned something new or gained a stripe on his belt. I LOVE seeing him smile! Thank you for "being in our family" for the past few years & we will continue to have our son train here.

My daughter has been going there since she was 4 and she's now 8. The instructor is "awesome" not only is he teaching good martial arts (with weapons, full contact hand to hand and wrestling - just to name a few) but he's teaching mannerism is on point. He knows ALL the kids names which I don't see very often. I stay and watch classes and he's fun to watch but he knows how to discipline at the same time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone kids or adults.

My family trained there for years. It's a great place to train and make lifetime friends. You learn so much more than a wide range of Martial Arts. You learn about yourself. Lions Way is not a "belt factory" where they just push you to pay for your next belt.

It's a great place to come get in shape and gain a good understanding of martial arts. There's a wide repitoire of skills one can pick up there, because the instructor is always bringing something new to the table. I've been training there for a while, and I am still being surprised with the new things we keep learning. Very supportive group of people there, friendly atmosphere and a nice, clean training facility. Quite physically demanding, but I feel like you never leave with less knowledge than you came in with.

My son has attended Lion's Way for the past couple of years. We enrolled him to try and improve his behavior at school and give him some self-discipline. My son has taken his training seriously, and Skip (the owner) has supported us along the way. When issues have arrisen Skip is more than happy to help. He is friendly and open, and teaches the children respect. He really is an extension of our parenting. I would recommend Lion's Way wholeheartedly to anyone wanting a full, enriching experience for their child's martial arts training.
