Sports Pavilion Lawrence

The weight room is stocked but cramped, and has two squat racks + barbell with moveable benches for bench press, one multi cable machine, lat pull-downs, pull up bars, leg press, leg extension, back extension bench, bicep curl bench, free dumbbells. The cardio area has recumbent bikes, Spinning-style bikes, ellipticals, a stair climber, and recumbent stair climbers. There is also two large basketball courts, and a walking track. Nearby there is a tennis facility with different hours.Everything is wonderful here - from the weight room and cardio machines to large basketball courts - except for the situation with bathrooms/changing rooms. There are only three changing rooms on the gym side, and they double as shower and bathrooms, with no stalls- meaning that toileting and showering happens in the same single room, and there are only three toilets/showers for the gym side of the facility. Taking a shower in one of those rooms would be unimaginably disgusting, because by the end of the day they smell like toilet.If I want to use the bathroom I’d go to the other side if I were you, but I would not take a shower here. It’s sad, I guess, because although I know not everyone wants to shower at the gym, some people do. The situation here just makes that impossible.Overall I have to give 4 stars because if they added more showers or just paid the cleaner more to clean every hour, that would be wonderful.

Wonderful facility and free to county residents. Has weight room (small but adequate) pickleball, basketball courts and indoor soccer field where I prefer to run for lower impact.

Nice places to watch your grandkids play games.

Very nice facility! Parking can be a bigproblem if there are other events going on in the surrounding complex.

Nice facility. There were over 12 volleyball courts. Concessions were good but pricey.Unfortunately, masks are required inside. A plus was no one enforced the mask rule. Even staff weren't wearing masks.

Out door trails, tons of tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts inside. Free entry to all Lawrence residents. Decent gym with an indoor 1/8 mile track. Location is less than desirable, but overall the facility is great.

Love this place! Wish we had one like this back in our hometown. Huge location, tons of courts, great food, all you can ask for!

Go for toddlers gymnastics and stay for bball and soccer. Great place to take a kid to run off steam for an hour or two. Famous foam pit.

Sports Pavilion is very busy on weekdays but if it is open, you will have a great time doing whatever you want to do. The building itself is always very clean and filled with staff. I had no trouble working out in the gym and on the track.
