The facility is large and has a lot of options for equipment. However, things tend to be broken regularly and the most popular equipment tends to have the lest number and the least popular has far more than needed.

Vasa Fitness used to be a sanctuary where one’s soul could find refuge from the ceaseless banalities of modern life, until recently that is. As I was attempting a one-rep max deadlift (135 lbs), a large bug suddenly flew into my mouth, leaving me incredibly disturbed. I generally prefer to ingest my protein post workout instead of during. Much to my horror, these bugs began to reproduce exponentially over the ensuing weeks, rapidly overtaking the pajama-wearing high-schoolers as the largest demographic at the gym. I couldn’t believe such infestation continued unabated— surely one of the numerous summer-sales bros that frequent this location could sell the gym manager a viable solution. But alas, the bugs have won, and preventive measures now would be akin to charging into hell with a squirt gun. I take great comfort in knowing that, should my body suddenly collapse, my earthly vessel will be instantly decomposed by a vibrant ecosystem of insects and critters that now reign supreme over the human gym-goers.If you wish to simulate The Mummy ride at Universal Studios (with real bugs instead of special effects), look no further than the Olympic lifting section at the local Vasa Fitness on 200 North.

The amenities and equipment at this facility are first rate. Price is a great value. The manager was incredibly helpful. I only needed a 2 week membership and he helped me figure out how to do that. I was stunned at how packed the gym is at 5am, but that’s a testament to how good the facility is. There seems to be a sizable portion of the membership who lack basic gym etiquette/courtesy - sitting and resting on a machine for 5+ minutes while others are waiting and having an attitude and wont allow another to work in one set. The pool and hot tub had clean water, but the pool bottom seemed to not have been cleaned recently (sand and such). Overall I’d say this is a gym that most other gyms should seek to emulate.

The instructors are terrific, I really appreciate there time and effort in helping me get myself in condition, plus they make it fun to get fit.

Not a bad place to work out. It’s frequently crowded and can be hard to get a machine you want. If something (machines, drinking fountains, cinema, etc) gets broken, it takes months for them to get it fixed. The cinema room is a sauna (76 degrees today) and while they say they are looking into it, nothing ever happens to remedy the situation. The bathrooms run out of TP frequently and staff have told us that they only check bathrooms once a shift. A poorly run and maintained gym, but it does the job.

Overrun with fruit flies for the past 3 weeks and getting worse. Even though this gym is usually quite busy, I previously preferred this location for the atmosphere and because I liked the Kidcare personnel better. The gym is laid our nicely and feels OK even when crowded, but the fruit flies are becoming intolerable. I asked the front desk staff if they were aware and they confirmed numerous complaints had been made, but nothing had been done to address it. Having a tiny little fruit fly floating around your face while working out is really pretty disgusting.

Good employees, great environment with lots of workout machines. Not too crowded with lots of space.

poor business practicesbe carefulmy high age son didn’t realize his monthly $13 payments weren’t being processed by his bank, Vasa never told him and would just let him scan in when he would arrive at the Gym and then after 3 months they sent his account to collections and he had to pay $178

A year ago, the staff was friendly and attentive. But now the staff is rude and can barely be bothered to check you in. I could be fine with that since we’re not at the gym to chat, but it’s the fruit flies that ruin it. They’re everywhere and I’ve asked the front desk about them and they just pretend they’ve never noticed. I see at least 5 fruit flies every workout and it’s super distracting and just gross. They’ve had this issue for months so I refuse to believe no one’s ever noticed. Makes me think the smoothie shop isn’t very well cleaned if there’s bugs throughout the entire gym.
