When I joined Lift three months ago, I was a total newbie to strength training. Now I’m obsessed. I look forward to my trainings every week. Chenell and Dirk are the best coaches. They taught me how to lift with the right technique and they’ve created a personalized program that continues to help me work towards my goals (functional strength) week after week. I’m amazed by the progress I’ve made in just a few months — there’s no way I could have gotten here on my own. If you’re curious about Lift at all, don’t hesitate to give it a try! I’ve been telling all my friends about it.

Lucky to have discovered this gem about a year ago. Dirk and Chenelle are incredible trainers. They pay close attention to their clients’ development. They have constantly adjusted my workouts to ensure I am making progress as efficiently as possible and even integrated mobility exercises into my routine. I always get an incredible workout and love that I’m in and out in 30min. If you’re looking for the accountability and structure of personal training at a fraction of the price of most other options, look no further. Highly recommend.

Lift has made me fall in love with strength training. I’ve been a runner for 15 years, but had never seriously approached strength training before. It didn’t take many sessions with Dirk and Chenell to start feeling and seeing a difference in my body. They created a progressive, personalized program that has me lifting weights I couldn’t have imagined when I started 9 months ago and improving my flexibility through a variety of exercises. It’s pretty wild to see your body and strength change in such a quick time. The biggest (and most vain) endorsement I could give is the number of friends who have joined the gym after seeing my progress in such a short time.

Chennel asked for my vaccine card, I provided it. Then never heard back. Just trying to get a trainer. It’s disheartening in the process of finding one to have this kind of unprofessional treatment.

Everyone should be coming here, I can't recommend it enough.Dirk and Chenell are the best - so knowledgable and great vibes. I never thought I would get into lifting but they do what they do so well and have created the perfect atmosphere and program I can't get enough. I tell everyone I know to come here.I started coming to lift because I thought it might help with some chronic back pain, which it has definitely helped, but as someone who has always been quite physically active it made me realize how out of shape I was and how much I could benefit physically and mentally from lifting. All around I feel amazing when I'm coming to lift. It's also a great supplement for any other sports you like to get into (I do a lot of climbing these days).Dirk and Chenell strike an excellent balance of tailoring your program to your individual goals and giving you one-on-one time while keeping costs low. The 30 minute sessions are perfect and I actually prefer the small group format - it's super motivating to see other people working hard around you and it's nice to see familiar faces. Plus they have a killer playlist 🤘

I've been training at Lift Silver Lake for nearly six months. Prior to joining Lift, I rarely did any type of weight training and would have never considered myself the gym-going type. However, my experience with Lift has been amazing! Dirk and Chenell are incredible resources and excellent trainers. They thoughtfully prepare structured workouts and tailor their advice based on your specific goals. I look forward to my workouts and I am impressed with my own results and progress. This is a long overdue, positive review of Lift. I started coming last Summer during the pandemic. The attention to cleanliness, social distancing etc was fantastic, so I felt safe and comfortable there immediately.I had some physical issues causing me pain, primarily acetabular labral tear in my right hip. My doctor suggested muscle strengthening via weight training and I found Lift on a Google search.I have been going once per week and I have been really happy with my progress. I have been getting stronger and am in significantly less hip pain than I was prior to starting. It's challenging in all the right ways and I look forward to going.Dirk and Chenell are both excellent. They are kind, patient and great teachers. I have always found teacher/trainer correction important in yoga and I value the same at Lift, so I'm able to get stronger and not hurt myself. Chenell is also great about reminding me which exercises are which. You'd think I'd know by now, but she's always really patient and nice when I'm looking at my list of things to do and look super confused, haha.It's also a great atmosphere, no judgement, good music.Thank you, Lift!

I absolutely love Lift - Chenell and Dirk are the best. They do a great job of curating individual work-out programs based on your goals and personal body type in a compact, efficient 30 minute session. I've always been active, but consistently attending Lift has greatly improved my strength and physique. Also, when I broke my foot this summer, not only did they recommend a great podiatrist but they were also capable of restructuring my regimen so I could maintain my progress without further aggravating my foot. I highly recommend!

Dirk and Chenell at Lift Silverlake are really the best. I have trained with them for probably six years now, and I wouldn't think of training anywhere else. They are passionate about what they do, which organically inspires one to work their hardest to achieve results, and they are also extremely knowledgeable. They also provide a low-key, friendly environment. Scheduling and occasional changes due to work or other things that come up is made easy and flexible. Best private trainers, gym in LA.

Dirk and Chenelle are not only phenomenal trainers, but great people to work with! My wife and I have been training with them for a little over 2 years and we keep coming back because the results speak for themselves. They are organized, and they keep track of your progress from week to week. They're also very efficient and pack a diverse, focused, and often times, entertaining workout.
