Alrighty so I used to go to the YMCA for my after school program back in 4th grade and it was terrible. The counsellors pick favorites. And when they pick favorites the favorite kids or whatever are bullying you and every counselor will stay on the bullies side because there there favorites. It's just a horrible place don't send your kids there it isn't worth the time/money

It's a beautiful facility but so often overcrowded and hard to find parking. I liked going here but found too many people (especially kids) running around areas where I just wanted to get in a work out and be left alone.

This is the best place for all ages and all abilities. My mum is a stroke survivor and enrolled in the Partnership Program. If your loved one is motivated & able to progress but insurance no longer covers PT & typical personal training is not appropriate, consider the Partnership Program. The Y shares your dedication to returning to an active lifestyle with compassion and professionalism PLUS have the equipment to support your goals.

I was jogging on the treadmill when I was approached by someone that worked there saying that my outfit was inappropritate and I would be asked to leave. This worker did not pull me aside, nor did she address me quietly, but instead was loud enough and bold enough that a few other patrons near me could hear. I was wearing yoga pants and a jogging sports bra which is standard workout attire for most, if not all, gyms. I felt intimidated, harrassed and embarrassed by the way I was treated. Unfortunatley, this same day I had paid for a deposit for my daughter to have her birthday party here. I went home and tried to find their dress code and came up with nothing. I posted my experience on Facebook and it went rather viral with words of shock and encouragement which was a pleasant suprise. Someone on Facebook did find the dress code buried deep not on the Peabody's YMCA site, but on a general vague site and with much research. But I don't think I will be using the Peabody YMCA's services after this experience.
