I have had the opportunity to have Michael Slotin as my trainer and massage therapist for over a year now. As a health care professional myself, I have been impressed with Michael’s knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to strength training, weight loss, pain management and therapeutic massage. Michael is a wealth of knowledge and strives to educate his clients while helping them achieve their personal goals.

As a healthcare practitioner I do a lot with my hands and also spend a significant time charting, so when I recently strained my neck all of chronic inflammation and muscle tension I have built up in my shoulders and neck flared up to the point where I could not turn my neck! Thankfully I knew who to call and was able to get in with Michael the same day. The next day my neck felt so much better and I was finally able to turn it without having pain.

one of the best classes I have participated in. It was quick, effective, pain free and so informative. Michael knows so much about your body and makes it easy to understand what you can do to be pain free!

I cannot say enough good things about Michaels Slotin and his practice. I originally came to Michael because I was concerned about my running stride efficiency (I was a heel striker and unsure of how to proceed). Michael evaluated my gait while running barefoot on a treadmill and suggested a postural assessment. Sure enough, underlying muscular imbalances were contributing to my irregular running technique and chronic neck pain. It was nothing short of fascinating - I had no idea how my body had contorted itself over the years due to hours of sitting (one leg stronger, one arm stronger, hips tilted, shoulders uneven, etc.) Michael helped me see and understand what my body was doing and how to correct it, giving me strengthening exercises to perform at home. These helped my running but I was still having some intermittent neck pain. Well, I quickly learned that Michael's best skill is his massage. His knowledge of anatomy and physiology is unparalleled and his ability to find and release muscular knots and break up fascia is nothing short of extraordinary. After one massage my neck pain went away for weeks. It eventually came back because those muscles were stronger than my consistency in performing the realignment exercises at home (D’oh!). However, after the second massage my neck pain went away for months. I’m still shocked and believe this was a direct result of the strengthening exercises and his ability to correctly identify the source of the constraint and facilitate the muscular release. Of note, this was not a typical relaxing massage but a targeted and therapeutic massage. Due to my scar tissue there were moments of discomfort however, it was eye-opening to discover how my body carried evidence of prior damage that I failed to appreciate. I was blown away. I haven’t kept up with the massage but I have kept up the strengthening exercises and my pain is 95% better and much more manageable now. I know how to take care of myself at home.Thank you, Michael!

My friend recommended Mike Slotin to me. She thought he could help with my back problems which were keeping me form doing even regular things like walking. She was right. His massage and fitness therapies have made a big difference, I am no longer in chronic pain; my back is stronger; I move better and my body is in better balance. I highly recommend him. The studio is top notch and the staff is totally professional.

A month ago I was unable to move. I had the Nuss Procedure done about 18 months ago and have been in debilitating pain since. He not only got me out of pain but I’m now building muscle. He is a god send without a doubt. Him and his wife are very positive, nice and intelligent people. I can’t express enough how great full I am for them.
