I joined the gym before Covid and I had a bad experience with the trainers. I chose this gym because of the convenience of being able to walk there from my home. My free training session was a disaster. I tried 3 different guys. My training session was either repeatedly canceled (by the trainer) or the trainer was late and I was left waiting. One trainer told me he was late because he had an audition for a commercial. Another one canceled because he had some business to take care of and he canceled again the following week because he said he didn’t feel good . Each time I was dressed and getting ready to walk out my door . I even got a text message from a trainer while I was home one evening telling me that I need to understand that they don’t get paid for the free training session and they’re doing it on their own time. I was shocked! I reported it to the manager. I showed her the text messages of me and the trainer going back and forth. As I was leaving the gym I saw the two of them laughing and talking by the front desk like they were friends. I knew then that nothing was really done about it. I finally landed a trainer that was serious about his work and very professional. He was new. So I signed up for 8 sessions. The afternoon of my 3rd session the gym closed due to Covid. When they reopened I went back but he was gone. I trained with a different trainer who actually used to be a neighbor of mine so it was great and I finished my sessions. But due to the rise in Covid I decided to end my membership until things got better. I am now vaccinated so I renewed my membership. I started back this week and while I am excited to be back working out, I am dismayed at the lack of adherence to Covid guidelines. As I was walking on the treadmill, people all around me were working out with either no mask on or the mask is worn around their chins only covering their mouths with their noses exposed. Staff members were walking around like they were oblivious to what was going on. I understand it’s hard to breathe with a mask on and work out, but these are the times we are now living in. This gym is a nice place with a good location but it is poorly run. Management is not doing their job. I do find the staff to be friendly but it takes more than a smile to run a business especially when people are paying for the service. I am going to look into why this gym is not following Covid protocol!

I am very pleased with the gym in general. It's clean and quiet. However, I had an incident with a random trainer and didn't like how the situation was handled by the manager.I was on the treadmill and this random man comes up to me and yells at me to run. I asked him who is he, and he said I am your new trainer. And I said, I'm not interested. It was an embarrassing experience.Firstly, do not call out or pressure someone to run faster, you do not know their medical history , level of fitness or fitness goals. We never met formally and or had a consultation. I expect a quiet place to work out, with no judgement. Isn't that the slogan for this gym? When I reported this behavior to the manager, she didn't address the issue. She basically told me this trainer was a good man and dismissed my concerns. The correct way to handle it is to ensure that he modifies his behavior, especially when he approaches a woman. You don't embarrass, call out or pressure someone to do something in the spur of the moment. He needed to understand why his behavior was wrong and how to act next time. I told him that myself, but if the manager doesn't uphold this behavior, who will? Please get proper training on how to deal with customers, how to interact with women and how to create a positive and safe environment for all types of gym visitors. Not all of us want to be body builders and sprinters.Thank you.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I love it here, free weight section can get pretty crowded by people who refuse to move. Way better than the Fordham location, hated it there. The machines are also gorgeous

I use to be a frequent gym goer before the pandemic and then 2020 came and became a super rough year for me. I recently joined the gym again and decided to choose Blink at Bedford Park and I am so glad I did. The staff are super nice, they keep the place tidy, they stick to COVID guidelines, and they also called me to check in after three weeks to see if I like the gym so far and had concerns! Not only are the staff good, love the gym itself and how comfortable I feel to work out.
