Steve the Wellness Director is such a gift if you're starting new, or need a "reboot" at the Y. He's so encouraging, and really listens to your fitness and wellness goals and helps you devise a plan to achieve them.

The Green Hills YMCA was an oven today. As I was leaving a very red faced lady was being treated for heat exhaustion. The employee assisting her was apologizing for the extreme heat Is your air conditioning system broken or are you failing to turn it on? Either way, current conditions are creating a real health hazard.

I love that the app is very user friendly and that there are classes all day long to fit any schedule. I also love that we can listen to Christian music.Great parking too!

Nice range of equipment and clean workout rooms. It's always busy here, even in the early morning, which is a bit annoying if you want to use the bench or squat racks. The pool is nice but again, always crowded, especially in the summer. Also some of the old people and teenagers here can be quite rude. At one point this old white lady was extremely aggressive and made racist comments to me because she wanted me to give her a swim lane. Teenagers will spend a long time hogging equipment and messing around if you go around when school lets out. It's very much a old white southern christians atmosphere and is pretty unfriendly if you don't fit into that.I would go here a lot more if there were fewer people, but I guess that can't be helped since it's one of the better YMCAs around.

To say this place has saved my life is quite literal. My physical wellness is better than it's ever been. The instructors are top notch (Mary Cady and Julie specifically) and the staff is always smiling and friendly - many friendships have developed from my time at the Y. The facility is super clean and well laid out. What more could you ask for?

The entire Green Hills YMCA staff is warm and friendly. The variety of classes, equipment, and affordable options are fantastic. I especially enjoy Patricia the trainer, who always encourages me and celebrates each little achievement towards my fitness goals. Thanks, Y!

The best Y in the Nashville area- hands down! Lots of class options with super nice instructors, a kind staff, three different floors with different areas to work out and plenty of machines. Not quite 5 stars because I wish there were more dumbbells in the common sizes people use and more mats on the bottom level (I usually workout after right after work and it's hit or miss if I get the weights I need and a mat.). But all in all a very positive experience being a member of the Y here!

I like the community of the Y - it’s open, kind, and you feel you can talk to other people there without them looking at you like, “why are you talking to me?”. I like the friendly Y staff that greets when entering and leaving. The facilities, equipment, and classes are excellent. You can do a number of group classes for free once you join - check out the schedule. The facility is kept clean and the staff are attentive.
