Always a great workout with friendly people and staff who want to help you get better! The classes are well-paced with a good mix of stretching, drills, technique, and grappling.

I've been coming to Ultimate MMA for over a year now. This place is the place to be if you want to learn from the best. The instructors and students here all care about your progression as a jujitsu practitioner. The instructors and most students also compete so you know that you're getting instructions/lessons that are useful both in real world application and in competitions. The owner of the gym, Andrew, also trains in jujitsu and in Muay Thai to make sure he is providing his students with the most up to date techniques. I have definitely seen a change in my fitness and confidence because of Ultimate MMA. I would recommend anyone to come here to learn, have fun, or just have a great workout.

ive been training at this gym sense august of 2014, ive had training of 3 years before i came here. im glad i made the switch from my previous gym to this one because the coaches are always the same and the training partners are in it to better them selves and everyone else. if you wanna fight then this is the place to be, what better way to learn how to fight then to train under a intense BBJ competitor and MMA fighter? either way you get your moneys worth and you get what you give so come here and train hard and youll be a monster of these matts like everyone else, this is my second home and all these guys and girls here are family

love Ultimate MMA. They have a great, attentive staff. Very welcoming environment. If your a newbie or have experience- you'll fit in. My family and I have been coming here for roughly 2 1/2 years. The children's jiu-jitsu and introduction to muay thai are great- my kids have a blast and they learn a lot. The adult Mauy Thai class is fun and a great workout- for men and women. The Women's Bootcamp run by the one and only, Marisa, is a great class for all levels of fitness and all age ranges. Marisa allows you to go at your own pace and you still benefit from a great workout. If you schedule a one-on-one private, you won't be disappointed. One-on-one private classes allow your instructor to really nail down your moves and improve faster. Andrew is awesome, too !- I don't train with him, but we have a blast.You can join as many classes as you want without any additional cost.Ultimate MMA makes you feel like family.. you should join :) you won't be disappointed!!!

I have been training at Ultimate MMA under Andrew Calandrelli for a little over two years and you will not find a better gym with instructors of the highest quality and knowledge. Every class you attend you will learn something new, and the techniques taught are always broken down and explained extremely well. Every student and instructor at UMMA is supportive of one another and new students are always welcomed at any time. The staff is very professional and the facility is always extremely clean. If you are looking for a new challenge and a better way to stay in shape, I'd highly recommend trying a class at Ultimate MMA.

I have been training over eight years at Ultimate MMA and Jiu-Jitsu Training Center. I have always appreciated everyone's dedication to all styles and levels of jiu-jitsu. The students/staff are collegial and the diversity in membership is great. We have students who "live the BJJ lifestyle" as well as students who just want to get in shape and do something new.Aside from our regular students, every visitor, whether they are a black belt training for 10 years, or a blue belt on vacation who wants to get training in, should feel welcome and at home here (and they have reported that this is indeed the case!).The facility is clean, modern, and has all of the accoutrements needed to support large or small classes.Stop by, put that gi on, and discover something new about yourself!

I've been training under Andrew Calandrelli at Ultimate MMA/Marcelo Garcia New Haven for a few years now, and I can safely say that you will not find a better jiu-jitsu/mma gym around. Ultimate MMA is packed to the brim with elite level mma fighters, wrestlers, boxers, and jiu jitsu competitors, as well as beginner and intermediate practioners. The facility is also meticulously cleaned multiple times daily, A practice many gyms neglect. If you'd like to learn an invaluable skill, lose weight, have fun, fight, etc, I highly recommend giving them a try.

I moved to CT 7 years ago and began training at Ultimate MMA with Andrew Calandrelli and knew this was the place I needed to be to accomplish my goals. I had wrestled my entire life and competed for a D1 wrestling program in college and wanted to continue to train and compete in a sport so I decided to try out some Jiu-jitsu at Ultimate MMA.Andrews knowledge and experience was obvious from the 1st Jiu-jitsu class I tried out. I have trained with Olympic and World class wrestlers and coaches my entire life and I knew Andrew was world class at his discipline. He has devoted his life to learning and training in the sport of jiu-jitsu and it showed with his ability to teach techniques and philosophies in the sport.In my 1st two years of training with Andrew I was invited to compete in the Abu Dhabi No Gi World Championships and competed in several Pro MMA fights with confidence that what he had taught me would work in competition because he had proven himself in several competitions himself. There are many gyms out there with instructors that have never competed in a jiu-jitsu tournaments or have never stepped foot inside an MMA cage. Andrew is a battle tested coach. He has competed at the highest levels in Jiu-jitsu and MMA and knows what it takes to be a champion.The gym is great for all kinds of people. You dont have to be looking to compete to get something out of this gym. He offers a wide variety of classes(kickboxing, boxing, No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, Gi Jiu-Jitsu and womens boot camps, kids classes).
