Convenient location. Walking distance from Broad Street Newark Train Station. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have the latest equipment in rock-climbing/ bouldering. Training rooms are available for strengthening every muscle that is required in rock-climbing.

I LOVE this gym, the walls are challenging but still fun, the community is nice, the teachers (capoeira and yoga) are great. I always have a good time.

My review is based off of a one-time, non-membership visit so my review should reflect as such. I cannot comment on any aspects that a member might have insight into, such as the frequency of route setting, but I did break down my review into aspects I found most important to me.- Route Setting: I really enjoyed the setting. As a seasoned boulderer who actively avoids climbing inside, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the route setting. I thought there was a good mix of modern style setting, with larger volumes and fun movement, and traditional try-hard setting. This meshed perfectly with my outlook that indoor climbing should equal parts fun to go along with all of the try hard projecting.- Parking: Having spent 6 years attending college in Newark, I was immediately concerned at how I was going to park. There is a public parking garage directly across the street from Method, IDT Public Parking. You can validate the parking ticket at Method for $4, which, for the guaranteed opportunity to park in Newark, is very fair.- Cleanliness: The store/café upstairs looked clean. The gym itself was also very clean, most likely due to the fact that chalk bags are not permitted on the mats themselves, a great rule that most people, if not all, seemed to follow. Locker room was clean as well.In all, a great gym. As I previously stated, I exclusively boulder outdoors, but I actually will be frequenting this gym every so often based solely on the route setting. Great work!

I had a wonderful time at Ladies Crew. Such a warm, friendly and welcoming environment. Malaka was great, and all of the other women were so encouraging.

One of my favorite climbing gyms. There’s a ton of bouldering options and the setting style is technique based and fun. I’ve been to a lot of gyms where I felt like some of the climbs were hard simply because they were made to be super reachy, so it’s nice to actually have a challenging climb that I can do with technique rather than just not being tall enough haha. They also have lots of classes that both members and visitors can enjoy and a top roping section as well. I like to come in for a session with friends and then hang out in their cafe after where I can get food and coffee or tea

I absolutely love this place! Joined after Christmas and they are really legit. Some gyms are rock climbing wall gyms where there is the lead that holds onto you so you don’t fall off the wall. This gym focuses on bouldering and it’s so much more fun! They also have a regulate gym in the middle. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Would recommend!

So much fun! I am a very unathletic person so I was a little timid about going to Method climbing gym but I’m happy I did. They have climbs perfect for beginners and I even tried some more advanced ones. Definitely a fun time and perfect for groups or even solo.

one of the best gyms out in the tri-state area. community's at 110%. i <3 the staff. location is accessible with public transportation with NJ transit & broad st station. parking is so near. there is climbing gear available in their cafe which is also incredible.the entire gym is very well-maintained. the route setters switch out the climbs mindfully and consistently, providing every level of climber with a good variety.would recommend checking their instagram @methodclimb for updates on their hours, offers, their fitness classes (TRX, capoeira, yoga, adult training program, etc.) and their maaaaany events such as shoe demos, vendor markets, mixers, LGBTQ+ meetups, ladies' night, college night, monthly mock competitions, and more. super easy to get to know other climbers & find your people.some of their events offer discounts for day passes as well, so those new to climbing can experience both the community and climbs with great valueas a new woman climber, the sport was initially intimidating but within method, there is a strong community of women climbers to look up to that personally made the sport all the more inspiring and fun.for first timers or long-time members, method's perfect. always a good time

Great gym with a solid lifting area. The only con for me is even the easier problems are super reachy (I’m short :/) and as beginner it’s really discouraging. Sometimes I’ll pause my membership for a month to go to GV to get my confidence up and not have to basically jump/use huge momentum during every climb. I just end up plateauing a lot.
