Surprisingly clean for a gym that gets this much traffic. Gets busy at rush hour. Staff is nice and lots of machines.

I joined this gym because it supposedly opens at 4AM. To get up at 4AM to go to a gym thats supposed to open at 4AM and for it not to be open at 4AM and then to go back at 4:45AM thinking that was more than enough grace period for a worker to get there and for it to still not be open when its supposed to be open at 4AM, is unprofessional and in a way cruel.

It's not super crowded after work (around 5 to 6) which is terrific. Clean and a good variety of equipment. Not the biggest space ever, but overall my favorite Retro in this area!

Horrible experience I will never train there again. I left this gym 5 month before my membership expired. I needed to pause my membership for a couple of months so I spoke to a clerk at the desk, months later I come to find out that my membership was never actually put on hold and now the owner was demanding that I pay for the months that I did not attend. The owner was so rude and uncooperative that it disgusted me to the point that I left the gym all together and didn't even utilize the last 5 months of my membership at all. The owner was very rude unprofessional and uncooperative so I took my business to Powerhouse Gym on Communipaw and have been very happy ever since. *side note* at Retro Fitness bring your own music because the music there sucks.

The gym is good but really ask yourself how much privacy do you have in the restroom area. I highly advise the owner to sit on the toilets and answer this question. I don't need everyone to know im using the toilet. This is my one and only problem. I can't work out if I don't use the restroom right before. Also high power flushing toilets spits water drops right back out (Pretty gross). And also if these problems can get fix maybe we can put flushable paper toilet seat covers (For quicker use). I might still use this gym but not too often.

Such an upsetting experience, I called to see if I can come in to cancel my membership and the lady Jessica on the phone was amazingly nice, she told me I can come in today to cancel and not be charged for next month payment. I come in and the women with the red hair Kristina seems to have no clue as to what is going on because for everyone walking in she would turning around to Samuel to answer the customers questions. They both told me I had to pay next month payment because I was a day short of the cut off time. How is this my problem? I asked for the manager to be contacted because of this incorrect information given to me. The manager also did not do anything about it. Goes to show the kind of management that is being given here, just stand around and not do anything for the customer. On top of that a shameful look for the manager Jack Russell who is the most disappointing showing he does not care at all. Just goes to show the kind of disgusting training he is giving his employees at this location! Never again! Run away from this place!

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO!!!!!! This place is a f*$^&%* nightmare!!!!!!! I signed up for a ONE year contract and SIX MONTHS of personal training. I specifically stated that I would pay for both accounts up front in cash because I had heard nothing but complaints about their billing. The personal trainer at the time, Ab, insisted that I have the payments taken out monthly. I happily obliged thinking it must have been protocol. It has been down hill ever since. First off, the personal trainer was anything but. It was so bad that, after paying all that money, I chose NOT to utilize the service!! He never showed up to my sessions and when he did he talked about himself. So I paid all that money to be a counselor all while teaching myself how to use the machines. I did more on my own than with one of their "expert" trainers. Fast forward to a day when I get a call from the new training manager Rocky. He was great. Honestly, he's the only reason this place had my business. He was a great personal trainer and he made sure I got my moneys worth. He insisted I use up all of the sessions I paid for and he even gave me an extra session for the trouble I dealt with prior to his arrival. During our meeting one day, I realized the gym had charged my credit card and renewed another six months of personal training sessions without my authorization!!!!! This is where it gets even worse. One of the employees (who I will not mention) there told me that they do this often. They often charge customers for auto renewals even though you've asked them not to. They save your CC info and set you up for auto renewal. In order to cancel, you have to call their counterpart ABC Financial who is another group of idiots. It's sad honestly because I love the gym and the staff is amazing. Nadia at the front desk is an absolute doll. She is always so friendly and cheerful. She always goes above and beyond to help customers. Like I said earlier, Nadia and Rocky are the only reasons this company had my business. I have spoken to both the manager, Brian?, AND THE OWNER about this problem in August and again in September (maybe late August?). It is now December and what do you know, I'm getting calls about the membership payment being overdue because they auto renewed it :) Hopefully by 2096 my membership will ACTUALLY be cancelled. Never never never never again.If your looking for a review on the gym itself:The staff is great and the gym is relatively clean. I have no issues with this gym and I would have loved to continue my membership but almost six months into this battle I've had enough. If they can't bill people properly I have no trust in anything they have to offer.

For gym quality I would've given a 4 star, but the service (attitude) doesn't deserve anything more than a 1 (unfortunately, there are no 0s).

Some times it is a clean decent gym but on times like today when there are no wipes to clean machines and it is also aggravating that equipment is breaking and not being replaced like the jump ropes for example, also it is fustrating that the wifi never works.

Clientele very friendly, gym is clean and well organized. Could use a little more variety on music, overall a comfortable place.
