Onelife Fitness - Tech Center

I've been a member at one life since March 2009, and I've been to the old 24 hour center near Patrick Henry. So, my first visit to the new one at the tech center was quite enjoyable. After all, it's One Life. However, I get there today , and the clerk tells me I now have to "upgrade" my membership by an additional $10.00 per month to be able to use this gym. This is an insult. I've been a One Life member for almost 14 years, yet I'm told that I have to pay more in order to use this one gym. While I enjoy going to One Life anywhere. This is one location I will not be visiting again, and if this were the first time at one life, I wouldn't have joined.

I have to say I am impressed by how well maintained this gym has been over the past 4 years or so since it's been open. The locker room is super nice and extremely clean. The sauna has excellent heaters which keep the temperature consistently high. The cardio equipment is top of the line. Their FreeMotion treadmills are the latest gen. The weightlifting equipment is distributed well and has everything you need for the full spectrum of bodybuilding lifts. My only con is how busy it is sometimes but that's just Newport News for you.

Ive been a Onelife member in Newport News/VA Beach on and off since 2013 and they have always had great programs. Recently, after my last pregnancy, I decided to get back into fitness but it has been hard. I decided to get a trainer to help me become consistent and Quan has been FANTASTIC. I came in January recovering from several injuries and surgery and he was very patient with me but also pushed me to keep going. My recovery has been smooth and I definitely feel stronger. Many thanks to him and the staff.

This is the 3rd gym that I've joined. So far, this is the best. It has all the right equipment, in sufficient quantities, and a competent and helpful staff. The pool is the cherry on top. I haven't tried the personal trainers yet.

Great gym with everything you need. Plenty of space to workout and feel comfortable. Amazing staff and trainers to assist you.

Switching to OneLife Tech Center was the best thing I could have done!! It’s clean, spacious, organized and an overall positive environment. Even when it’s busy there is still more than enough equipment and space for you to complete and good workout. One of the first things I noticed when I started was how friends every single one of the staff members are. This is the place to go!

I can not say enough nice things about Sonya and Onelife. I have been in town for the week visiting my son who is in the Navy. Sonya made me feel at home along with a couple other staffers . She truly made me feel like this was my home gym. If you live or are visiting the area and are looking for a gym , look no further.Thanks Sonya❤️❤️

So much bigger and better than Planet Fitness! I recently converted to OneLife because Planet Fitness didn’t have enough equipment to account for the influx of crowds. There are plenty of user-friendly Smith machines for beginners, and also plenty of free weights for those looking to expand the scope of their workouts. There are two free personal training sessions, and the trainers here are wonderful! There are lots of free classes offered, plenty of equipment to go around, and it’s pretty clean for the most part. I think the staff does their best to keep up with the equipment, but sometimes we find lots of machines consistently out of order. I don’t believe it’s the gym’s fault, some of the patrons are just really rough on the equipment. For everything that is offered, I do believe it’s a great place and an affordable membership! I would take/post photos, but they do not allow photos on the gym floor. That’s kind of a bummer as well.

Amazing gym. Fully populated with all the equipment you need, super clean, towel service, and a great value. Management acts on recommendations and consistently reaches out for feedback. No other gym comes close to this when considering the price vs amenities.

Highly recommend! I did a lot of research before joining a gym here, mainly for childcare and a nice sauna. I've been a member for several months now and am still very much impressed. It's probably the cleanest gym I've been a member of by a long shot. Someone is always cleaning when I'm here...kudos to the cleaning crew! All of my kids love the child facility and beg to "go to the gym" which helps as a mom! They have a large play place, plenty of toys, and tv. Staff is very friendly! The sauna sold me, as it's well-maintained and very nice! There's always plenty of equipment, even at peak hours, and I rarely see equipment OOO. Bathrooms are always clean! I also never feel judged here even on my own workout journey. Several of my friends have memberships here and also love it. Highly recommend!
