N-24 Gymnasium, located at 1570 Gilbert St, Norfolk, VA 23511, offers a variety of equipment and workout spaces catering to different fitness needs. This facility features several squat racks, numerous cardio machines, resistance machines, and a large turf area for functional training. Though it houses quality equipment, the gym environment suffers due to a lack of air conditioning, which makes the space uncomfortably hot, especially during summer.

Additionally, while the staff's helpfulness and knowledge are praised, specific customer experiences highlight inconsistent service and enforcement of rules. Despite its potential, many users express the need for significant renovations to improve the overall experience.

Overall a potentially good gym BUT is neglected so it's gets a low score.Building has NO AC in it so the issue is the humidity in the building and now the mildew and likely mold growing inside the place.Treadmills don't elevate properly, dumbbell racks (3 of them) are missing 70% of the dumbbells, the workout platform stations are missing plates and barely have any on them. Also the sauna.... why is it timer based you waste more energy for us having to go turn it on from a cold room to hot because of a 60 mins timer vs keeping it on and just having staff turn it off at the end of the day.

I get anxious going to new gyms & i was worried there wouldn’t be a space off the main weight room floor to be on my own & luckily this had a few places I could go to do that. & IT HAS A SAUNA 10/10

This gym isn't bad, has plenty of benches and squat racks and recently got some more machines so there's plenty to go around. Only thing it needs is mirrors on the walls as you work out

The Gym equipment is great. All the cardio and weight equipment is is great working order and clean. The problem is the facility itself. I have been going here for years. I doubt the AC or heat works at all. Its always to hot or cold. The showers, toilets and locker rooms are in horrible condition. Toilets leak, showers have peeling paint and sometimes mold. Even the paper towel dispensers are broken. If they put some money into it to fix the bad things instead of just the equipment it would be a great place. There is so much potential I just think MWR doesn't care about the building as a whole to fix everything that is wrong with it.

This gym has been completely changed up from some years back. It once had 2 useable basketball courts. Now gym 1 is completely covered with workout machines. The other basketball court is covered in power lifting weights and racks. Quality peaceful basketball days here are a thing of the past. Also the showers need to be cleaned. They had the little flying bugs in the shower.. This gym is not what it used to be, but still has so much potential.

Enjoyed working out here until today. I was told I wasn’t allowed to drop my weights in the weightlifting zone. The guy was very sardonic and wasn’t willing to listen. Other patrons there drop their weights while I’m there and I’ve never seen anyone have a problem with it. If you’re going to enforce a rule do it across the board or not at all.

Great space and set up. They have 12 rack platforms with cables on the back of half of them. In between the two rows of racks is a turf area to do sled pushes and other fun stuff. They have a climbing course too. There's several separate Cardio areas. The hours could be better, but this isn't a Marine Corps base.

Great gym with a lot of different equipment. Unfortunately the woman working the counter this morning had a nasty attitude with me qnd my friend. We were confused when she said "What can I get for you? Weights!? Cardio!?" Like I didn't know …

Probably my favorite gym in the navy. The facility is old but it’s equipment is high quality. It has 14 decked out platforms and a large turf area. The past/present navy pictures lining the walls are an awesome edition. There are definitely higher quality gyms on other navy bases but this one has everything you need and more character.
