Re: This is the worst onelife in the 757.Onelife Norfolk is using the money from monthly memberships to purchase equipment for rooms they close off to monthly paying members, leaving less equipment, space, and poorly maintained machines for the rest of the gym. It is very apparent that Onelife doesn’t care much about their members, but if they wish to keep us around, here are just a few suggestions:⁃stop closing off parts of the gym we paid for⁃Get more dumbbells. The racks are usually empty of 15s-25s⁃Get more kettlebells⁃Get heavier kettlebells⁃Fix your water fountains⁃Fix your cables (no reason for different sides of the same machine to feel different)⁃Get more handle attachments for the cables. It’s absurd that we need to search the entire gym for handle attachments, let alone ones that might match each other⁃No carabiner clips to mount attachments to the cables… really?⁃Get more benches (or let us use the ones we paid for in the “restricted” areas)Get more squat racks (or let us use the ones we paid for in the “restricted” areas)⁃Relabel the plates on the machines. We can’t tell the weight we’re using because the stickers fell off a long time ago.- Clean and disinfect the weight room bathrooms. They ALWAYS smell like mildew and piss.- Vacuum underneath the machines. There’s a thick layer of dust.

Best gym I have ever been apart of! Friendly staff, lots of equipment, affordable and not a judgmental atmosphere. Makes me really sad thinking about leaving the east coast just because I love this gym.

The gym itself is great, clean and lots of equipment. However, I don’t reccomend the quality of childcare here especially for toddlers and babies. One of the childcare workers never greets myself or my son, completely expressionless and handed me my son like he was nothing. They don’t maintain a safe child to adult ratio. It does not seem to be a safe or caring environment for small children. I won’t be bringing my son back to this location.

I got a membership here with my kids (3,1) I could not even go bcuz daycare is always full and only with one person for so many kids, I complain couples times with the manager . Even it was time that it was water everywhere from the water fountain and it was only one person and she could not even clean it bcuz she was so busy by herself , I even ask her for the mop to clean it up .My kids been in daycare before at the YMCA never have a problem. My kids hater this place , if your kids are toddler or babies I will not recommend this place .If you don’t have kids this place is great for you.

the gym is overcrowded no matter what day or time you go, for 3 floors, it’s a pretty generic gym. i went for a couple months, then stopped going and figured i could just cancel my membership. but no it doesn’t work like that. please be mindful of the contract you are reading! you are locked in for a year paying 39.99/month for a basic experience. and once your yearly contract is up, you roll right into a month to month contract. with no notice. so it’s on you to make sure you are reading between the lines. and understanding completely what you’re signing up for. it’s overpriced in my eyes and to break your contract it’s a big deal in itself. in order for me to stop paying for my membership, AFTER MY CONTRACT WAS UP AND THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE MONTH-TO-MONTH, due to my pregnancy i had to submit proof..it felt a little invasive but i guess that’s how they operate. very difficult to find parking too without the risk of getting towed. a lot of information in your contract isn’t disclosed with you, very basic gym, overpriced, just not for me. i would recommend planet fitness or iron asylum honestly.

The guy in the front desk with the tattoos is literally a gym employee clichè, they don’t make me feel welcomed there & it’s very very poor customer service. I’ve never been to a gym where you can sign up inside the gym, but can’t cancel your membership? Instead they give you a whole run around, just trying to get a money grab and milk out the time. Honestly if you want to gym in the norfolk area just go to Iron Asylum. It’s only the Ghent area Onelife that’s like this.

Honestly anyone rating the actual facilities below average needs to get their head checked. This place is freaking great, super clean, good airflow, an abundance of equipment and reasonable hours & SUPER reasonable membership price considering the access to classes as well. I'm new to town and explored basically every option in Norfolk for exercise and this is by far the best value. I was actually appalled by the Anytime Fitness in the area (yikes) that was charging $50-70 a month for an outdated, hot, carpeted, old gym experience. Orange Theory and Pure Barre are nice but super expensive.
