Odessa Family YMCA, located at 3001 E University Blvd, Odessa, TX, offers a range of activities for all ages, including swimming, karate, basketball, and more. The gym is community-centric, relying on donations and prioritizing inclusivity by not turning away individuals due to financial constraints. Their staff is known for being friendly and helpful, adding to a welcoming atmosphere.

The gym equipment was nice, but there was not enough room between pieces.

Was on the phone with my mom (at around 9am on Wednesday) when she was about to go into her Zumba class. I overheard her asking the instructor a question, and her reply was so ugly and disrespectful that my mom immediately walked out.

My husband and I were looking into placing our child in the daycare up until this evening when we showed up to get the application and the old prune 4th grade teacher was yelling at the kids!!!! What the heck!!!! It is not professional nor correct to be yelling at children the way this lady was!!! If those were my children and I hear/see her yelling at them she would be getting a taste of my fist!GET IT TOGETHER YMCA!!!!!!!! HIRE THE CORRECT PEOPLE TO CARE FOR THESE CHILDREN!!!

If you like to play racquetball don't go when school kids get out of school. It is impossible to play due to the kids playing in the other courts and screaming so loud that I get a headache. The kids aren't even supposed to be in there but staff members do NOTHING to police the kids. We pay alot of money for our memberships and lockers but that may be changing soon. I've complained to staff and they just say tell me that there is no one else she can send and she cant leave the front desk. All racquetball players have told me the same thing and most have gone to OC.

My daughter attended YMCA daycare in 2017 for a month or 2.We are back a year later and she is extremely excited to attend. I hope this year is better. Staff seems nice and they remembered her as she walked in this morning.

We were members for two months. Most of the nursery staff were good. The hot tubs were closed the week I signed up and I paid for it but was not notified of this. I asked for a tour and no one was willing to show me anything. The ac went out in the cardio and weight rooms in the month of June aka hotter than hell here in Odessa and took about a month to fix. All they had were semi large fans that were useless. No one would clean the equipment after they were done and there was never any towels in stock to do so. The entire building is highly outdated. The pool always stayed dirty and was constantly over 85 degrees which isn’t pleasant when you’re doing water aerobics. They would cut aerobics short 15 mins early due to swimming classes. The lifeguards locked up one night and lost the keys to the large sliding doors and locker rooms. The female lifeguard was always either on her phone or on her Apple Watch. You could never find a place to park no matter the time of day. Save your money and go elsewhere.

This place have so much potential and I especially enjoy the friendly staff and supporting an organization like the YMCA. This place constantly let things break down and are slow to get stuff fixed however. The hot tub in the men's locker room was down for a month or so. The air conditioning in one of the workout rooms was out for weeks during the middle of summer! As I write this, the steam room is out in the men's locker room with notes posted all over the building which read "steam room is not working and will be down until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience". Management team; I have questions. When will it be fixed? Isn't there someone in charge of keeping things maintained and getting things fixed promptly when they go down? Do you all measure how good or poorly you are doing at keeping things working properly? How interested is the board in how well our YMCA runs and is maintained?. I think all of our members see the ymca as a nice community resource, and that is why we support it and pay a premium over the cost of local gym memberships. Its only a good resource if things work well however.
