Last May I signed my daughter up for Gymnastics. She was allowed to not wear a mask while on the floor since she gets bloody noses randomly while wearing them & being physically active. She wore them in line while waiting. There was no problem last May, I was so thankful for their understanding. I'm being told this isn't acceptable now. Unless they deem what she's doing as physical assertion, she must wear it. We opted out after her teacher she's had this entire time waited for me to leave my daughter's side to go directly up to her & tell her she needs to keep her mask on, even after knowing she couldn't & didn't last may. If you're looking for a place where you can trust that the staff will have enough respect & gut to directly ask you a question or state what they're expectation is especially when there are particular circumstances for the well being of your child, then I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Understand if your girl is in the lower levels of team that the criteria to move levels is entirely discretionary, and much more restrictive than at other gyms. Even if your girl meets this preset criteria, delineated months and weeks before, they will come up with excuses to not progress your child—at their discretion. The really unprofessional part is that the reasons for not progressing (a constantly changing bar to meet for progression) is placed entirely on your child as their problem. Discretion is fine, but be transparent as to why. If you only have so many spots at a higher level, then state that. Don’t have staff cut down and nit pick kids as an excuse to not progress them, when former teammates moved up with lesser criteria. Ex: asking to perform a skill COLD with no warmup on the event as the child’s 1 and only opportunity to demonstrate a skill successfully. “Sorry, you failed.” Such unethical behavior. There are many issues regarding staff turnover at lower levels, changing criteria for level progression, and overall management of numbers in JO lower levels (sometimes really high numbers, low staff—like 2 staff to nearly 20 girls). If you are a new parent to JO in the lower levels, just know that they need to fill the lower levels because they recently had an exodus. They need workers to staff Booster club events. Check out other gyms.

If you want to subject your children to PROVING they have gotten a covid vax before they are allowed to enter without a mask, even without a mask mandate in Omaha, this is your choice. They also are requiring all of their staff to prove their vaccinations as well. Not sure who this place thinks they are.... used to go to you but never again. Let's all not forget your poor choices in the past as your former coach sits in prison. Do better.

In the best interest of my son I chose to remove him from this gym. We left this gym quietly, but after some new revelations I do not want to be quiet anymore. My son competed for this gym for several years in the T&T program. Although I shared my concerns about how much time the kids spent standing around not being engaged it was never addressed. Too bad the coaches have so much knowledge in the sport but pick and choose which kid gets to benefit. With lackluster coaching my son still managed to win. Premier has a Wall of Fame in their stairwell. In order to make the wall you must be a Regional or National Champion. At only 7 years old my son was a Regional Champion. It was a goal of his to make that wall. For reference, this wall has pictures of kids from more than 20 years ago. Well, in March we decided to leave Premier. We left very amicably. I went into Premier recently and they removed my son’s picture. Why I wonder. What did he do to get himself taken off the wall? Was his status as Regional Champion no longer valid because he wasn’t at Premier. No way right because most of the kids on that wall no longer go to Premier. So, why was his taken down? Before writing this review, I called the owner for an explanation. His response, when an athlete is associated with another “competitor’s gym” they remove the picture. Which baffles me, the wall is supposed to acknowledge your contribution while you wore the Premier name on your back. But, that’s beside the point because my son has always been associated with another gym because he participates in another sport at another gym. Premier does not offer that specific sport. They were aware of his “competitor’s gym” association all along. They had no problem with his other gym association when I was paying an arm and a leg for their over-priced tuition in return for mediocre coaching. This gym fosters an unhealthy environment for their athletes and parents. It’s a “their way or no way” kind of place. If you want to be a part of a gym that supports your athlete GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

We came for a team tryout and were treated so poorly by the other families we encountered. The level of pretentiousness was disgusting. My daughter also fully felt it by the team girls she encountered. It was clear that my child was seen as a threat rather than an asset and that she had to prove herself to be of benefit to THEM, before she would be welcomed in any way. Not a way to encourage team unity, that’s for sure. A whole lot of pointing and “who’s that girl” from parents accompanied by criticism, not knowing that I could see and hear them the whole time. There’s definitely an “in crowd” here and we were not welcome to be part of it. I’ve had that sense for years from the gymnastics meets we’ve attended hosted by Premier in prior years, but we wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and a shot when we were forced to find a new gym. Nope, it’s even WORSE! I’m looking for a welcoming and affirming environment for my child, not a place that rivals “Dance Moms” on TV. The fact that families feel emboldened to act like this is also a reflection on the business practices and professionalism of the gym. Reading other reviews, this doesn’t surprise me. We luckily found our new home elsewhere and couldn’t be happier! Premier cares more about fanciness and money than they do about building the positive character of their gymnasts, and it definitely shows. All of this trickles down from the TOP!

My daughter loves gymnastics at Premier. I assume my previous 1-star review was just an accidental click while scrolling on my phone.
