My daughter started training at Gracie Barra Overland Park in February of 2022. She had a free trial class, but wanted to try a few other martial arts schools. During that time, she would constantly ask, "When can I go back to Gracie Barra", "I want to go back to Gracie Barra". As of this review, this is my second week there. I am familiar with Gracie Barra (therefore I am biased and think its the best). Its been everything I had thought it would be and so much more. Professor Valerio, Coach Tim, and Coach Austin are great. They are all truly sincere and genuine for their love and teaching(s) of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and its philosophy under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. Its been great training there. You truly feel like a team, but more importantly, a family. The only egos there are healthy egos. Everyone is there to help someone get better, to help each other improve, to help each other to develop, etc. There is no, "me", at Gracie Barra Overland Park its, "we". If someone is struggling, they don't get broken down, they don't get embarrassed, they get built back up to learn a technique until they have the knowledge and concept of it, and in return gain confidence. They are not left behind. No one is there to embarrass another person, its not about seeing who the toughest is there, there is none of that. I am beyond grateful and appreciative for my daughter and I to be a part of Gracie Barra Overland Park. I could go on and on, this is the Cliff Notes version.

I really enjoy learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu here! Professor Valerio does an amazing job explaining how each step works and the reason behind the moves - his class is like a perfect combination of science and art! It's also our fun family activity - we go to the class twice a week and love practicing new take down skills with each other at home:)!

My wife and I signed up my six year old son for classes about six months ago. He is having the time of his life. He whispered in my ear a few weeks ago. “Dad I want to do this for ever”! Since then he has pulled his father and his sister into the classes. I would highly recommend that all fathers bring their sons or daughters to a Gracie Barra Class.Professional Valario had trained at the Barra Da Tijuca Jujitsu academy in Brazil. You can’t get any closer to the Gracie’s and he is great with the kids.

My son and I both go to this school. It has been a very rewarding experience for both of us. As a man in my 40's and unathletic I was worried that I would have a lot of issues. But everyone has been very welcoming, and I have discovered that my grappling partners are willing to work with me every step of the way. As such I have seen a lot of physical improvement and after less than a year feel confident enough to "roll" with anyone there and know that it will be safe and fun.My son has also been going and is a part of the kid’s program. I have seen a large improvement with his coordination and self-confidence. He has a lot of fun, and it is something that we can do together after the classes. At no time when we go do I feel like he is not benefitting from the experience. The tag line is Jiu-Jitsu for everyone and after almost a year of training and bonding with my son I have to agree whole heartedly.

Organized like a team, fighting like family. This is how they do in Gracie Barra Overland Park. Professor Valerio is one of the most professional and knowledgeable Professors I have ever seen during my last 10 yrs BJJ journey. You won't be regret if you train here.

Great school with an amazing instructor, Valerio Mori Ubaldini. The Gracie Barra brand is the largest in the world with schools to train at world wide while traveling. The environment is spectacular. Highly recommended to anyone looking to start their BJJ journey.

My son started about 5 months ago with a friend and has been loving. He has already competed and won sim gold medals. I’ve even seen the benefits of his strength/conditioning in other sports. But you don’t have to be a competitor to join. I ended up starting a month later myself. All the coaches are very positive and great to train with. The community is very supportive and it’s a positive environment to train. It really is jiu jitzu for everyone.

Martial arts academies really don’t get better this this. First of all, Professor Valerio is a legend in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so you literally cannot learn from anyone better. When I showed up for my first class everything was clean and organized and everyone was welcoming. I was nervous to start but Professor Valerio and the other students made me feel at home. By the end of my first class I felt like a member of a team. This is by far the best martial arts academy I have visited, and I will be enrolling my children as well. Seriously, if you have ever wanted to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or any form of martial art then this is the place to go.

Coach Tim and Proffesor Valerio are two of the best both at jiu-jitsu and just genuine people I had the privilege of both training under and working with these guys. Gracie Barra Overland Park is very lucky to have them.👍 …
