Friendly staff. Friendly atmosphere. Dumbbells to 120. Tons of cardio equipment and classes. Love my experience at South Beach Fitness for over a year.

I was a customer of this gym for over 8 years. Three times they denied me access claiming I hadn't paid my dues in over 2 years, yet they have been charging my AMEX monthly. I never missed a payment. The kids at the counter have no customer service experience and were very vocal in announcing to all that I had not paid. Not only inconvenient but embarrassing. I called today and they still wanted to argue with me. Very disappointed in overall customer service. Notified my credit card company and cancelled my membership.

Great training facility for any type of workout routine.A wide variety of cardio and weight resistance machines, but also plenty of free weights and SPACE to train. The rooms, space, and wide variety of equipment ensures their gym goers that even during peak hours that they can get their workout in.Classes and trainers appear to be knowledgeable and in great shape.Cleanliness of the facility is good. The option to use the gym's 24 hour option coupled with the facility itself places this muscle factory far above any other around the area.No annoying crossfit cult activities.Get in and get out, no matter what time you go.Complaints about pricing leaves me scratching my head.Price is fair and competitive when compared to any other gym. Plus the clientele beats going to a LA Fitness or other crowded facility surrounded with inconsiderate gym patrons.South Beach keeps it honest, simple, and real. Can't sleep? Is your current gym's hours restricting you from training on weekends or holidays?Try out South Beach. You won't be disappointed.

Just had a run in with front desk person who called herself a manager. When I went to go in to gym, she checked the record and could find nothing, even though we've been going for two months regularly. Sent me away to "go and check my records". I returned with proof that we had indeed paid two months ago. Obviously, the gym's system did not work."Manager" was unapologetic, unfriendly, and laughed at me.All a real shame, because everything else I have to say about South Beach Fitness is nothing but positive.

I have been with South Beach since they opened, when they were by Coasters. I LOVE THIS GYM. Leave your attitude at the door--there is none of the normal machismo, drama, or weirdness there--everyone from members to staff have been most friendly. People go there to workout--so many other places I had checked into were more like a social place to chat, etc...this is a fabulous place to work out. I also use the 24 hr access which is fabulous for nights with insomnia!

well I am the dumb ace for not reading these reviews first. I join this gym about two years ago and they took the monthly fee out of my bank account twice then it took me going in to the gym four different days to try to get my over charge returned, I call, I emailed and the Lisa person was never there and never returned my calls about two weeks later the over charge was returned to my bank account...now fast forward to today. I wanted to re-join as now they have 24 hour access and the other local gym does not. I joined on line but their site did not say anything about the wait for getting the 24 hour access so stupid me thought it would be no big deal as I have traveled all over the country and got 24 hour access as soon as I signed up....not true at SB I went in tonight and the young guy working said "well I don't have any of the forms for you to sign up for the 24 hour access so you will have to come back during the week (daytime) and get the form then you wait about a week and some guy does a background check and then you get the access after paying another $25 fee. This is stupid and I canceled my brand new membership on site and now will have to argue (I'm sure) during daytime hours with someone to get a refund. This is why I signed up on line and want the 24 hour access because I can NOT go in there during daytime hours HELLO

Can I just tell these whiney people to shut up? South beach is a great gym. I love it.You have to live a pretty miserable life to talk bad about a gym.

To all those who read reviews please take this review under major consideration.South Beach Fitness is not a place you would want to work out in. After my experience which by the way hasn't even been a day in fact I have not even worked out there yet will help your decision to not invest your hard earned money in this gym or even with a trainer named Michael Flickinger who claims himself to be the manager of this gym.For starters I went their seeking a membership and a tour of the gym as every gym I had ever been a member of does for you. I was told by the employee at the front desk that sorry no one was there to help me. In fact he just left it at that and didn't say another word. I asked him again well is there any information he could give to me and again he just said no. So I asked another question do you have a schedule of class or prices how about a tour? He said sorry he is just watching the front desk. He told me to just go online and get my membership there. While I was displeased with the response I thought well maybe a new employee and doesn't really know what he is doing. So I went online and I paid for a year membership in advance which was 368.88 everything went smooth until I found out the next morning that I was charged again by the gym for the full amount. When I called the gym to speak to a manger about this, Michael Flickinger (who called himself the manager) had assured me that this "oversight" would be rectified immediately as long as I had proof and apologized for the other employees behavior that that was unacceptable and not the gyms practice. Well as soon as my husband went into the gym to get a reversal on the chargers Michael Flickinger not only disrespected my husband but basically told him he could not guarantee a refund in a timely manner and that he would let the owner Lisa know and then he blew my husband off. I called Michael Flickinger to discuss this matter with him and he was just as disrespectful and then when I told him to refund not just the overcharge but what I initially paid for because of the treatment of which I was being treated he basically told me he will let the owner know and he didn't know when that would be. Only after I had assured him that I will bring criminal charges as well as a civil suit against this establishment was when he said the owner would contact me the next day. Which will be tomorrow. And for all of you that are reading this all of this started on 2/14/14 it is 2/18/14. How does a customer get treated like this and has not even stepped into the gym to even work out.I hope this helps all those looking for a good gym to work out at. Please stay away from this one.

Wow! I've been a member at this gym for over a year and just had reason to look up their phone number online today and came across these reviews. I know they say 1 bad experience is worth 10 good ones and only those bad experiences bother to post so here's my 2 cents ... for what it's worth. This isn't Pro Health & Fitness, and they don't try to be. It's a simple, beachside gym, with extremely knowledgeable staff (especially Charlie, Erika, & Brian). I've had 2 issues total and both have been handled promptly & with respect by the owner directly. They're working through being a relatively new gym and you can see the progress they're making every month. Whether it's a free trial, $5 guest of an existing member, or $10 off-the-street use for the day, I'd simply suggest you go in and give it a shot for yourself rather than rely on the less-than-handful of jaded reviews here. You just might be surprised (and impressed) with who else you see there who call this their home gym.

They advertise a free week then make it too difficult to use!I went in TWICE to get a free week to see what the gym was like. Each time the rules changed. Then the 'manager' insinuated I was committing fraud! We're taking about $5 worth of gym access!!!! Why are they such jerks? What are the hiding? Are the trying to pull a fast one like the gym that used to be near Home Depot in Melbourne???
