Given how long this review is going to be, I will start by saying that this gym/wellness facility is one of the best equipped you'll find in South Florida to satisfy your fitness needs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I have been a member for four years and use this gym on a daily basis. It is more than just a gym, it is a community of members with a common goal of becoming the best version of themselves. It's a community that celebrates life and makes it a fun place to be. The age group that participates ranges from early 20's to 80+. It’s a mature group that are there with a purpose and not an environment commonly seen in the large franchise facilities. From beginners to muscle heads. It's a facility that caters to a wide range of people with different set goals and is very well equipped to do so. (See Pictures)The Miami Lakes Athletic Club is a haven for tennis enthusiasts. I don't play myself, but I know some members who do, and it offers leagues and coaching for those just getting started. Some of the tennis courts double as basketball courts for those who enjoy a good one on one or group game. Indoor courts host junior basketball games as well as badminton or gymnastics. For weightlifters, there is no shortage of free weights and machines. The facility has several sections dedicated to specific exercises with specialized equipment depending on your needs. I find it odd that some reviewers state that it is not well equipped. I'm providing a large amount of pictures so you can see for yourself. Better yet, just stop by and ask for a tour. There is something for everyone, even the most hardcore weightlifter.Miami Lakes Athletic Club has their own app. For me I just use it for my entry barcode and to have a list of all the upcoming classes. The classes are a huge bonus that you will not find anywhere else. There are daily classes that are amazing at providing that added level of wellness to your daily routine. These classes are part of the membership and you can do as many as you can attend. There is Pilates, Hathaway Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yogamukta, HIT Workouts, Tai Chi, Spinning and more. There are also special classes for Silver Sneakers members. The instructors and staff are the heart of the Miami Lakes Athletic Club. Together, they can change your life for the better if you follow their lead and push yourself beyond what you think you're capable of. If you want to improve yourself, it is up to you, not the gym. This facility offers a wide range of opportunities to diversify your journey. It doesn't get any better than the Miami Lakes Athletic Club. There is a child care option for those parents with busy schedules. There are all kinds of celebrations throughout the year that make the club so much fun to be a part of. It's really one big family that works together to make it a place that is a pleasure to be a part of.

Gym needs some serious updates. Whoever set up this gym has no clue how to work out. Weights are scarce, machines are from the 90s. The 2 racks they have to do squats are falling apart. If your thinking about joining a gym join DUROZONE!!!!! DUROZONE is by far the best gym in south Florida.

I absolutely love this gym. It’s extremely family friendly and the vibe is just great. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful especially Brian and SamM. went above and beyond to help me rescue my AirPod that fell through the stair master. Even when I was ready to give up they were dedicated to helping me. Best gym I’ve ever been a member at!Update! Lol I lost my AirPod case a couple weeks after the incident above and Sam M. Helped me search the whole gym until we found them. Again so grateful to the dedicated staff here at MLAC for always being so eager to assist, so extremely friendly and for always putting up with my AirPod fiascos! Management give Sam M. a Raise!!!

This review is only for basketball league. Cant speak for the rest. The refs hinder the developement of the kids by calling too many fouls that are not fouls. Kids are not allowed to play defense the correct way, which will be shoking for them when they actually try a play for school or travel. What is sad, is that the league actually has some good kids, which I see no need to protect them like they are doing. I spoke to the director and hopefully she fixes this issue, but i dont seemyself returning if this is the way they operate.

I’m taking tenía clases with my husband, we really enjoy, we did the private clases as the group one was not for our level. We are happy with the teachers and the courts.I don’t go to the gym there but I can see between 6 and 9 pm is super crowded, like most gyms, so I wouldn’t join unless I can go in a different schedule

The amenities that come with this membership are the reasons I think people pay for it. Such as the basketball & tennis courts, or steam room. But the actual gym itself is not worth the price of the membership. It is terribly organized, lacks basic and functional equipment, and overall it is just old. Take this with a grain of salt as every experience is different.

Update: Changing score from one star to three. The gym recently bought brand-new, good-quality barbells.Don't bother coming here unless you're fine with defective, unsafe equipment. Nearly all the barbells are bent and rusty. The squat racks (of which there used to be four until two of them magically disappeared), adjustable benches, boxing equipment and deadlift platforms are in a constant state of disrepair. A friend of mine sat on a bench and almost injured herself when the seat came off. One of the squat racks wobbles laterally when re-racking the barbell. One of the platforms has large gaps where a person's foot can easily get caught. The management has known this for at least a year but has done nothing about it. They obviously don't care if someone gets injured.

My daughter has been taking tennis lessons here for a couple of years and the tennis program is great! Ricky has helped her development tremendously and we are so happy with his services.

Both my husband and I have membership at this gym and our daughter goes to the Scooby Doo tennis class here. This gym has very good infrastructure and is very clean with friendly and helpful staff. It gives you the feeling of a big family. It feels like going home when you enter this gym, safe and welcomed. Both my personal trainer Ricky, and the youth tennis coach, another Ricky, are professional, easygoing and just simply great people!

This club is a great place to practice badminton. The level of the game is from beginners to professionals. In the hall there are four courts, in the main play doubles and mixed, at the end of the coaching you can play singles. Training sessions are held three times a week: Tuesday 19:30 - 21:45, Thursday 19:30 - 21:45, Sunday 8:00 - 14:45. There are changes in the schedule, so it is better to call the club before visiting. I recommend this club for all badminton fans 🏸 👍
