My daughter has been going here since she was 2 (2016-17). Things have changed some since the ownership change, but mostly positive changes. My daughter tried another place but she much prefers the coaches & the equipment available at Northwest.

We belonged to Northwest Gymnastics for many years before Classic Gymnastics purchased the gym in July 2021. We were very hopeful about the transition because the owner made several promises at a family meeting in August (upgrades to the building, bringing in new coaching staff, team handbooks, monthly communication newsletters, a front desk person to help with administrative tasks, new leotards for team girls, etc...) The list goes on and on. Not one of those promises was kept, and when we communicated these frustrations, he was incredibly rude and disrespectful to parents, or he would simply ignore communication. I was incredibly concerned about safety because there were 13 team girls there practicing, with one, very inexperienced coach. She was unable to gain control of the room, and kids were climbing on structures without spot or support and attempting skills they weren't capable of doing yet. I stayed at the gym for the entire team practice so that there would be another adult present in case something were to happen. When I called their administration, I was told "we are within the guidelines of SafeSport", which actually, was untrue. We have since left, but are now hearing of this behavior (and worse) at their other locations as well. I also recently heard the owner speak on a podcast stating that his goal is to turn his business into a large revenue producing business (50 mil) by 2025. Seems that he's more focused on making money than creating positive experiences for kids.

I’m sorry to have to write this but after hearing experiences from other families i feel i need to be honest about our experience in order to prevent other families the same situations. The owner is rude, condescending and dismissive. He bought the gym from the previous owner and promptly ruined everything we loved about it- fired long time coaches, over promised massive improvements and did not deliver. Communication is lacking at best. I don’t know about the Rec program now but if you are looking for a competitive team experience look anywhere except the classic family of gyms. The owner keeps buying struggling gyms and then neglecting the programs. Not a positive place for children to grow in the sport.

My daughter has been attending the New Hope location for a long time. It was important to my family to find a place where a diverse group of families were attending. When we visited we saw a mixture of different cultures, color matters as that’s the real world so we stayed put.I am often asked how diverse the school is when I share that my daughter attends gymnastic classes. Though not advertised as much on the website and other marketing material, Classic Gymnastics in New Hope, MN has an array of rainbow, so to speak, and we love it!I encourage families of color to stop in and not only judge a school by their advertising only.

This is by far the best gymnastics school my kids have attended. Samir is an extremely talented instructor who truly cares about every one of his students. If you are looking for professional top notch training-I highly recommend here.
