We have had kids from ages of 1 to 9 in a variety of classes at Mini Hops. The kids really enjoy it, and it has been so helpful for developing general sports & social skills, building confidence, strength, and athleticism to name a few. Highly recommend!

We’ve been sending our kids to Mini-Hops for the past 10+ years. My daughter attended rec classes and has been on the Xcel team for the past 5 years. My son attended the academic preschool. I appreciate that they are a non-profit. They are a well-run gym— organized, provide consistent communication and they have long-tenured staff. My daughter has learned many skills, both on and off the mat and has made lifelong friends at Mini-Hops.

We love both the Mini-Hops gymnastics program and the Mini-Hops academic preschool! We’ve had two children go through the preschoolprogram over the last 5 years. Miss Kris, MissCyndi and the other staff have prepared my children extremely well for kindergarten. A perfect balance of education and physical activities in the gym.The gymnastics program has been around since I was a kid and is well known in the Twin Cities for its exceptional program. My girls have learned concrete gymnastics skills that they can build on over the coming years. We’ve had a handful of great instructors, all of which are kind and patient during our first two years in the program. We look forward to many more fun years at Mini-Hops!

The coaches are wonderful! They care about the gymnasts and make it a point to get to know them and work with them on an individual level. My daughter has developed valuable skills as well as confidence over the past few years she’s been at Mini-Hops.

We are very happy to be able to send our kids to Mini-Hops! We have one child who does summer camp and classes and one child in the Adaptive Gymnastics program. The facility is really huge and all of the coaches we have met so far are great. Our son loves the camp. The camp is a good value for all that is provided even though it costs about 25% more than a park district, school district and day care center camps we looked at. The Adaptive Gymnastics program is an invaluable resource for the community area. Dani, our child’s coach is caring and engaging. The adaptive classes are 1:1 and work out to about $50/hr, which is pretty typical for therapeutic services. Mini-Hops adaptive programs can be paid for through disability waiver programs. I only wish they could have a little bit more open gym or other more flexible opportunities, but I completely understand why they don’t have them (cost, liability, Covid etc.)

I love this facility and the staff - front desk and instructors alike. I think there is room for improvement with mask enforcement. I would like front desk staff and 4-year-old preschool students to wear masks in the gym during the daytime when my child attends a group class. I would also like to see the older team kids wear masks in the evenings. Last week there were about 8-10 girls on uneven bars not wearing masks - even when standing around and talking. Masks should be required and ON during rest periods and chatter, NO buts about it.

We are enjoying our time at MHG. The staff is always kind, respectful, and well-informed. I especially like how recreational coaches take time to check in with parents from time to time after class. We are having an equally positive experience with Coach Keyla and the Excel program. She is great, she motivates and encourages my daughter in a positive atmosphere.
