I really like this gym. My son and I have been coming to the family sessions for almost a year-and-a-half now and have made some great friends. The family class is simply the best value in the Twin Cities for a parent-child duo, and I've sampled a few of the alternatives and just didn't like the prices, the vibe, location, or the class timing/options. The vast majority of folks I've met here have been extremely supportive. The advanced belts and instructors are always willing to share their knowledge and support, which is good--I've seen other places that frown upon browns/purples ever wasting time with white belts. I think I've even made some lifelong friends already! There are three locations with plenty of class options making it easy to find slots that suit your family's needs. The instructors I've had including Ben, Dan, and Jackson (Yegor, Chad and Santos, too!) are patient and knowledgeable. Ownership has been responsive and adaptable to our needs and they have many options for payment. I've guest-trained at gyms in many states in the US and one in Europe since starting my BJJ journey and the Cove is among the best, if not most disciplined, schools I've seen. If you're looking to buy your belts, look elsewhere though, you can belt up a few notches here with hours but you gotta earn your stripes here and, believe me, when you go up against other like belts from other gyms, you very likely already have an advantage due to this fact. If it's at all valuable to you, my experience required some adjustment of expectations as an adult in the family class ... it's not the same pace or detail on the adult side of this child-focused class as the full-deal adult programs so I needed to come to terms with that to fully appreciate the value the Cove offers. There will be months where I'll add my own membership here so I can have additional options to accelerate my own learning, or even a full discounted adult membership since adding members after your first here get discounted. BJJ is about learning to survive and cope with pressure and the Cove takes care of its students and makes sure we can all learn in a safe, supportive environment. I definitely hope to roll with others who read this over the coming years! Oss!

I have practiced at other martial arts studios in the past. So far I have nothing but great things to say about the instructors I've encountered at the Cove. They are polite, knowledgeable, and generally just really fun to be around. The training is a fantastic workout and it is all very real-world based training. The Cove also thoroughly vets everyone who wants to join to ensure that they will be trust worthy training partners and people that can be trusted with your safety. For anyone looking to seriously or casually practice MMA - the Cove is a great place to go.

Exceptional school! Since joining the Warriors Cove last fall I have had the utmost positive training environment combined with friendly, supportive and vastly knowledgable instructors and students. Highly recommended!

I've been training at the Warriors Cove for 2 years now and cannot say enough good things. Initially I started at a means to get in shape as Fitness clubs did not appeal to me. I knew almost nothing about BJJ, had very little martial arts experience (4 months of Kung Fu 19 years ago), and only planned to train 3 hours a week. Since I'm not the most athletic person, I was afraid I might not catch on fast enough, get frustrated, and quit. Fortunately, that was not the case. At this point I'm training as often as possible, have lost 30 lbs, met some really great people, and feel fantastic! The training is TOP NOTCH! Everyone is very helpful (to reiterate what most of the reviews say here: NO EGOS). If you're having trouble with certain techniques, the instructors (and even the senior level students) are willing and able help you analyze it and show you how to improve. Everyone helps everyone progress, and at their own pace. I've turned 2 people onto the Warriors Cove, and speak their praise to anyone who will listen. Also looking forward to bringing my son in when he's old enough (you get to train alongside your kids in the family class). If you're looking for an effective martial art, knowledgeable instructors, friendly training partners, and a safe and clean environment look no further than the Warriors Cove.

Learn a battle-tested combat system without all of the masculine posturing. Macho garbage is replaced with genuine character. I have trained here for nearly five years and plan on fifty more. The instructors are paid to ensure you are welcome and that you learn, but they and everybody else will do that before, during, and after class, without hesitation. The ideals start at the top and work their way down. People with bad attitudes are asked to leave if they don't work to improve. As an added perk, one year of training here and you won't even remember to compare yourself to anybody at any gym. You might feel like encouraging them, and you'll probably feel like telling them to take a free class.

I have frequented "The Cove" for over ten years now. When I lived in Mpls full-time, I was addicted to Carolyn's kickboxing classes- she is one of the top instructors I've ever had the chance to workout with.... The friendly, professional atmosphere of Warrior's cove is unmatched. Each time I am back in the Twin Cities for business/family I make sure I pop in to catch at least one class. Many of my old friends from years ago still attend- which is a testament to the quality of instruction they offer.

I have been training at the Warriors Cove for over five years now and I have been thoroughly impressed with the level of instruction and training partners. I think what makes this school different from others I have trained at is the focus on technique and the respect between instructors and students. The training is structured in a safe way so that those training for self defense, fun, and professional fights can all train together in the same class. There are no egos allowed here, which makes training at the Cove an enjoyable experience for students of all levels. Hopefully you'll come check us out and I will be training with you soon!

This was my first ever experience in martial arts. I've never watched MMA on ppv, had no idea what Jujitsu was, but I wanted a martial art that was different than traditional TKD.Upon meeting the instructor, I signed up for a free 30 day trial (2x a week max), and got a free uniform to boot. (I recommend investing in the heavier gi though) After that the $109 was a no brainer for unlimited access. The training is tough, I was weazing like crazy (I was WAY out of shape too), but it was nice because it never left me feeling bored once I got my stamina up to par.All the instructors were beyond nice and all my classmates were helpful. I had to discontinue for financial reasons, but plan on joining back up soon, I'll add, they lock you into a set price and there are no initiation fees or bs. So, when you rejoin, it's the same price and you keep your rank.
