I dropped in with no reservations and had a wonderful Bikram class.

I joined Hot Yoga of Claremont August 2022. My main focus has been Pilates. The instructors Linda, Vivana, and Xochitl all bring something different during classes. My first class was with Linda and I learned something from that class and every class since then. She encourages you to push yourself to challenge yourself but, also to do the the exercise correctly as to not injury yourself. I have since started Bikram Yoga and being a beginner the instructors are patient and informative- TY Herman. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to change their life and health for the better. You meet great people who have the same mindset - ty for all the woman I have become friends with.

I dislike posting any type of reviews and when I do, rarely is it a 5. However, I give Hot Yoga Claremont (HYC) a confident 5 rating. Let me tell you why...I first visited around 2008 (HYC's previous location). I struggled doing yoga, but Ann (then an instructor) was so helpful with modifications and using props. I have physical limitations and embarrassed of my awkward positions. Fast forward to 2023...I see the same helpfulness continues among instructors. I love the mindfulness in addressing different abilities.I also appreciate the respect for diversity that can present itself in many forms. For example, the instructors (as well as members) come from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Many members speak more than one language and some instructors have the ability to communicate instructions in another language. Linda is one such instructor.Every class she instructs, Linda demonstrates effective communication and strives to motivate all to do their personal best. Her instructions are in English, but will sprinkle in phrases in another language to help others. Sometimes, I can't do an exercise or need to take a break. There is absolutely no shaming, on the contrary she gets me back in the "game" with encouraging words. By the way, these encouraging words are also directed to many others. It's become a little contagious because some members now give motivational "shout outs" to one another. It makes you smile and feel like you are part of a community. Linda is really good at her craft, respectful and very kind. I would dismiss any description to the contrary. If I knew how to post this completely anonymously, I would. I usually don't share about my experiences, but this is an exceptional case.A grateful thank you to HYC!

One of my favorite studios!Anne is a great owner & I think the studio is clean, cute, and efficient. I feel she has done a great job at making the studio into a community. There are a variety of classes available: hot yoga, hot pilates, yin, vinyasaShoutouts to some specific teachers:Linda (hot Pilates) has helped me transform my body and understand my muscles. She brings the energy and is an amazing teacher! She wants you to get the most from every workout & pushes you to be your best. I have never enjoyed working out as much as I do w her Pilates classes. I read a previous review about micro aggressions and to beware if you’re a person of color. I was a little surprised, I am a woman of color and have been coming to this studio for years, and have never had this experience. There are many people of color in this studio who have been members for years.Monica, Justin, Herman, Sharon - (hot yoga)Not only are they experts in teaching, but I appreciate that they all bring a different energy to class. Justin inspires me to push myself. Monica inspires me to honor my body. Herman & Sharon inspire me to rest when I need it.Neil - (yin) I really like Neil’s classes, the energy he brings to class helps me relax and I love that each class he has a different curated playlist and words of wisdom/knowledge that he shares.

Wow, what an absolute waste of money and time. I bought the deal package off of Groupon and had high hopes for this class, only to be met with micro-aggressions and being jam packed in a small space with 30-40 people as if we were sardines. Mind you, this was hot pilates so the stench was RANCID. Linda, who thinks she invented pilates, proceeded to be passive aggressive towards me by making a snide remark that had racial undertones to it. "How many languages do I need to tell you this?" By the way, her instructions were vague and unclear. As a South Asian woman, I felt singled out and did not appreciate this hostility from her, especially for my first class in that center. As somebody who has done pilates for YEARS, I find this studio to be unprofessional and unfriendly towards minorities and I advise any beginners and anyone that is BIPOC to steer clear of this place.

My favorite place. This is where I get my happy back. Most of my inspiration comes right after having visited a class. The people, the space, the energy - it's all good. I encourage anyone, beginner or not to pay a visit. It might just become THE spot for you too.
