This boxing gym is amazing! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The coaches are knowledgeable and very helpful. The cardio boxing class is a butt-kicking workout hitting a heavy bag, then ending with a core workout. I'll never go back to a regular gym again - McConnell's Boxing Academy is a full body torcher that satisfies!

I've been to so many gyms in Portland over the years and this one is by far my favorite. Molly and the other trainers create a community oriented environment for folks of all bodies, cultures, abilities etc. And you also get a phenomenal workout. Being here feels like being with family - who have consented to catching your punches. It's ideal.

I wish they highlighted achievements of other trainers here if the light weight champion who’s face is blasted all over the internet as the face of the gym is booked out completely and has been “for over 5 years.” As she says. BecauseThis is what drew me in cash ready to book 10 hours a week+ Of personal training+, Got offered some other trainers i know nothing about. And can’t find anything about.I feel like your gym should have each trainer and their achievements listed on your website. If I knew more about these other trainers maybe i wouldn’t have been apposed to signing up?Food for thought.Thank you for the experience regardless.

McConnell's is a clean and well-maintained boxing gym. It's a welcoming place with an enjoyable atmosphere - the cardio boxing classes are super fun - you almost don't realize you are getting a great workout. There are specialized classes for those who want to work on technique. The "human factor" is the element that makes this a truly unique place. The owner and every staff member are helpful, experienced, and properly qualified. They are dedicated, knowledgable, and can support you in reaching your individual fitness goals if you're willing to put in the time and energy. I've noted there are a couple of 1-star reviews. Reading between the lines, it looks like a couple of dudes that can't handle direct communication from a woman (i.e., the owner - Oregon's only professional female world boxing champion and a darn good human) who doesn't immediately bend to their will and accommodate them. If you're that fragile, boxing is probably not the sport for you.

I visited Portland for the first time last month, and McConnell's was my favorite part of the trip. Working with Coach Josh over two days gave me a nice range of pointers to work on for my fitness goals, while delivering one heck of a workout.Truly a gem in the Rose City. Great facility, wonderful people. Thanks for the experience and best wishes from St. Louis!
