CRG randolph is a good gym if you're new to climbing, need a confidence boost, primarily using the weight room, or a family looking for a kid friendly gym -the kiddie climbing room is wonderful for parents. However, if youre a climber looking to be challenged then this gym has room for improvement: the climbs are creative, but very soft and there isnt a tension, moon, or kilter board to train on. This gym doesnt sell chalk or energy bars anymore. The rope climbs are fun, however the auto belays could improve by setting a variety of grades 5.8, 5.10, and 5.12, so that climbers of all levels who are on a time crunch & without a partner can get a workout. Lastly itd be nice if the gym opened at 6am once or twice a week.

**New lame “rules” . Came as a non member for my son. 20 min before 2pm for “non members” was told we couldn’t participate till 2. The gym was literally empty with a snarky unpleasant lady behind the desk who refused to take our business . Really guys ?? We’ve been coming here for years. ✌️ will take our business elsewhere.

Great vibe, awesome staff, always clean, great activities, and they put up new routes often enough where you can’t get bored. Love this place.

I brought my son, now 8 years old, in for the summer camp. He liked it, so I signed him up for the Climbing Club program. My son enjoys the place and asks to go himself; no pushing from me needed. The staff, the people, the atmosphere are nice there.I think climbing is really good for young kids. It develops the whole body, and the reaching and pulling actions are good for posture.

Finally got down to the Randolph location and it was worth the drive! Lots of top rope and lead, good size bouldering area with a big cave section, and the workout area is as impressive as any of the CRGs I've been to. They have a dedicated kids room which could be awesome for those who need it; apparently they host parties. The photos help, but I'd say overall this gym is slightly smaller than the Stoneham location, but similar in offerings.

This rock climbing gym is so wonderful it impacted my decision about where my new apartment would be. The staff is genuine and friendly. The space is clean, and the staff clearly take pride in the facilities. The overall atmosphere, staff, and route setting on the bouldering wall are so superior, that I visited three other climbing gyms, one of them a central rock, and couldn’t believe how much I missed CRG Randolph. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Great place for adults and kids. Kids sections has multiple different sections for all levels. The trainer Matt explained everything thoroughly and knows what he's doing.

This was my first time climbing. The staff was incredibly helpful and my instructor was very knowledgeable and funny. They have a variety of walls to climb for every skill level. I met some great people too. I'll definitely be going back a few times a monthUpdate (September 2018): I have been a member of this gym since June 2018. I took the belay class my first day, I went back the following day and purchased a membership and gear. I am in love with this sport and the staff is beyond incredible. I HIGHLY reccomend this gym

Excellent gym. The crash pads for bouldering are still the old type they used in the chain but they are well kept. Route setting is excellent. They have some very fun projects.
