Bay Club Redondo Beach offers a scenic and comprehensive fitness experience with its open, airy layout and both indoor and outdoor workout areas. Nestled in a prime location overlooking the marina, this club features diverse amenities including a lap swimming pool, sauna, outdoor turf area, and well-maintained locker rooms. Members appreciate the natural light and friendly atmosphere that make workouts more enjoyable.

However, frequent complaints about cleanliness, outdated equipment, and service inconsistencies mar the overall experience. With significant recent price hikes, many feel the quality of services does not match the premium fees. Despite its strong points, members suggest considering other options if cleanliness and modern amenities are high priorities.

Every single time I shower, there is a band aid, black hair, trash, or something gross in the showers/on the walls. The towels have long black hairs in them even though they've been washed/folded. The steam room had a towelette & a bar of soap in the SAME spot 2 days in a row! Band-aids & trash floating in the pool. Teenage boys aged 13+ running around weight room with no supervision. Brunette girl w/ glasses at the front desk with a mean face NEVER says "hello/have a good day" - she needs to be fired this has gone on for months. Employees should not be allowed on their phones at the front desk.Planet Fitness has higher cleanliness & employment standards than Bay Club. Bay Club has so much potential, it's such a shame that this is what management can offer :(*The 1 star is for the new guy at the front desk that wears a necklace w/ dark hair - he is awesome and does a very great job at work! :)

I loved

My watch was stolen in the locker room and although the front desk was nice about it I have heard of many stories of things getting stolen at this location.

The layout of the Redondo Beach Bay Club is very open and airy. The inside workout areas have a lot of windows and doors that are open letting the ocean air in. There is the outdoor “turf’ area for classes, weights, or doing your own thing with medicine balls, battle ropes and ploughs. The pool and spa are both outside. There are a lot of regulars at this club. The staff is very professional, front desk, trainers, and housekeeping, they are all great. I’ve been a member for 2+ years.

I'm a member for several years and not the one usually to complain. After raising the price of my membership significantly, they should step up with their service too. The management at this club seems non existent. The morning front desk girl never says hello, never even takes her eyes from her cell phone when we check in. Most of the towels have old blood (or other bodily fluid) stains on them. When we come for the first morning group exercise class on the turf, we (members) have to clean all the heavy equipment from the turf so we have space to workout. First class is at 7am and the club opens at 6am so there is an hour window for the staff to prepare the turf. It is also a liability for the club when members move the heavy equipment out the way.I can continue with my list but looking at other reviews here, no one from the Bay Club really cares what is going on in Redondo Beach location.....

Facility needs a serious recap. Older equipment. Different vibe than my home club. I doubt I will go back before upgrades are made.

I really want to like this gym because of the location and great views. The place could be really cool. The main lobby receptionist was not warm and welcoming. I barely got a hello. Not a good reception to the gym. I joined for the classes but was disappointed in the instructors. Seems like they are more interested in working out themselves than instructing. I took the weight lighting class and stopped because of the lack of instruction on good form and technique. I was concerned about injury. The instructors didn’t give feedback. I took some yoga classes and liked Nancy’s classes. I ended up doing personal training with Joe. He was a great trainer but it’s not worth paying a membership fee on top of the personal training cost.
