I love this place. Aside from a hiatus where we had to move away for a year, for work, my family has been coming here for years (since it was still the BAC). Everyone is always very polite and kind to us, even though I may look a bit 'strange' (lots of tattoos and dyed hair).I would give it five stars, however today, I had a different experience. I hadn't been upstairs for quite a while, due to a knee injury from being rear ended. I had been downstairs doing physical therapy. Today was my last day of PT, and I had noticed that I had lost my gym card. I figured, like in the past, I would go upstairs and give my information and get a replacement card. This time, I was met by an older woman (I believe her name was Robin), who was clearly very suspicious of me, and wanted my ID. My ID had been left in the car, due to PT. I had my husband with me. I offered to show his card and give her my information. I told her my ID was in the car, and I did not want to do so much walking because of my knee. She stared at me like I was some sort of degenerate trying to get a free card.After walking out and down the sharp hill on my hurt knee, I drove back up and around and parked to walk back inside and give her my ID. I let her know that in the past I had NEVER been asked for my ID when I needed a replacement card, and noted that it was strange. She proceeded to tell me that she asks if 'she doesn't know someone' and she doesn't just 'hand out IDs'. She did not smile, or apologize, or say anything other than that, just slid my new gym card to me while looking down, without any acknowledgement to let me know that our interaction had ended.I assume that this was because of the way that my husband and I look. We may have tattoos and dyed hair, but we live in this area. We pay for a family membership, and we even go to Carilion facilities for our other medical needs. People in the classes we attended before I injured my knee even know us by name. We are no more suspicious than anyone else who walks through the door. We are good people who should not be judged on the way we look, and have not up until this point.I WOULD recommend Carilion Wellness, but not Robin (I hope I got her name right), who clearly does not look past the outer appearance of others. Very disappointed in this interaction.

Great place for summer fun, among other things. I went there for the big slide by the pool side. There's a lot of positives about this place, it's a clean place to work out the staff is friendly and helpful, but this thing I dislike is it is difficult to navigate. Just to get to the pool you need to go down stairs down a long hallway past the laundry room and then you find the family changing rooms. Go post that and the pool, then down a hallway to the outdoor pool and I completely walked past the locker rooms. Once you know where your going is not bad but it could be better.
