Where to start! The gym is clean, tidy and recently updated. Staff is not only friendly but personable! Front desk staff pride themselves on learning your name. I have tried a handful of gyms in the area and nothing has compared. For a reasonable price you get unlimited BFITT classes, access to the 3 local gyms, hot yoga and barre class, Zumba, etc. Speaking of BFITT... best group classes in this area, hands down. The combination of strength training and cardio/conditioning is perfect. I've tried HIWB, Vent E3 training, etc. and nothing compares. I've had friends and family who were just visiting for a weekend take a BFITT class with me and they agree they're the best classes they've taken anywhere. A lot of other group training classes do not require their trainers to be certified. Not Best Fitness. The cherry on top is Ryan Taylor. Best group fitness trainer in the Capital Region. He knows everyone who takes his classes. And I'm not referring to name only. He knows their personal limitations and modifications, as well as knowing when to push them harder because he knows their POTENTIAL. I'm super proud to be part of the Best Fitness family!

I’ve been a member since the gym opened. I use the club frequently, I’m not a stranger to the staff. I roll with all the changes and very respectful to their business model. I started with a key tag to check in, moved to 2-3 app versions no big deal. Today I went to the desk and asked for help because I could no longer login to my app to scan in. This young, thin staff member with a big earring and black hair pulled back in a pony tail was incredibly rude. Unfortunately it wasn’t the first time. Apparently, there is a new app! Short on time I asked if he could just check me in. He said I need the new app to check in. I asked him if I could just have a key tag rather then down load another version of this app. He said sure and wanted to charge me $$$$ for the tag!!! I’ve been paying monthly dues without interruption for over 10 yrs and now I have to purchase a key tag to get into a gym I paid $thousands of dollars over the years!

Hands down the BEST gym in the capital region. Great selection of equipment and they have a ton of group classes. The hot yoga studio is awesome and I love the BFITT classes. Perfect place for all fitness levels.

Regarding the latest changes to the gym... Less space for the people who work out on the floor and who use free weights and machines. You've already taken away a bunch of machines that members use on a regular basis without asking us which machines we use the most. A good manager would have asked us which machines we would have most wanted to stay. Many people are angry at these changes and I know of at least 15 people who are leaving the gym, quite possibly us included.

Do they have good gym services? Yes. Friendly staff? Yes. Do they honor the contract you sign with them? Yes. But do they do this all in good faith, not trying to milk you for every penny you have? No. For instance, I have to pay for an additional month's membership 13 days AFTER I move away. For their lack of flexibility, I award them 2 stars.

Terrible establishment. The management is some of the worst I’ve experienced anywhere. Extremely unfriendly and have no cares about the people that pay to go there. Of course signing up everything is going to be happy and smooth. Once you sign that two year contract they don’t care about you. Fees pile up on top of each other with no exceptions. My brother and I moved out of state, after the contracts were finished. 6 months later, started getting charged again. They are sketchy people, don’t fall into their trap. Go to one of the many good gyms in the area... vent fitness is close by but abc fitness in Latham is far superior to any gym around.Forgot to mention the 60$ per year fee for maintenance. That fee is for patching equipment with duct tape rather than actually fixing it. They are just a franchise solely about money.

Nice gym! I visit family in Schenectady often, and try to keep up my routine. This is one of the best facility's I've been to. The equipment is well maintained. I initially thought the treadmills looked dated, but they were very smooth and comfortable to run on. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The negative reviews for this gym are simply hysterical. My partner is a HUGE gym buff and I'm an on&off regular. Best fitness is great. They have all the equipment I could need, and then some. The trainers are as varied as any other gym, the community being equally varied.Don't take the other reviews of people complaining about customer service to heart. I once switched my cards without telling them and ended up with $300 in fees, and when I calmly called and asked for help, ALL of those fees were eradicated and I was given the month free.

This gym is very large with many free weights and plenty of bars, benchs, squat racks etc. You will almost never have to wait to use them. The staff is friendly and willing to help you with your different goals. Their is a vey large selection of machines and cardio equiptment . This is by far one of the best gyms I have worked out in ever. Also, Just remember to always read you contracts before you join any club!!!

I started with Best Fitness December of 2015. I had a few issues and all of them have been addressed and resolved. I am taking away one star because some of the staff didn't seem to care about the issues. Overall I enjoy the gym and my trainer Marina is excellent!
