This gym is everything. I came to this gym on a referral, and I couldn’t be happier with how things have been so far. I was really nervous joining a CrossFit gym because it was a completely new world to me. But I feel like James, the owner, has systems in place for people like me. He started me off with 4 - 1 hour classes of 1:1 coaching to help get me comfortable with form and assess where I was at physically so that I can push myself with minimal risk of injury. After that I was put into the main classes with everyone else and I’ve come 4-5 days a week since. Working out is working out, it’s brutal while you’re in it and rewarding when you finish. But what makes this gym so special is the people. The culture here is amazing. The room is always filled with encouragement and humility from the newest of people to the coaches. Muddy Water has me hooked and while it’s still early, I feel like it’s changed my life already. Come see what Muddy Water is about, you won’t regret it.

Muddy Water Barbell/CrossFit is really a wonderful gym with incredible people! Everyone is a friend and the workouts are a great challenge, but also so fun! James and Jaren (coaches) are a wealth of knowledge. They really are invested in your success. They know how to push you enough to grow and get gains all while not pushing you over the edge to where you can’t move the next day. They are always improving and trying new things to accommodate to their members. I’ve gotten a lot strong and more confident thanks to them pushing me in a safe manner.

Muddy Water Barbell is AWESOME. I joined when I was about 16 weeks pregnant and their knowledge of fitness during pregnancy combined with their absolute expertise in CrossFit has made it such an easy transition for me to learn this sport! They are very technical and make sure that everyone who starts out with their gym knows the fundamentals before stepping foot into their normal classes. Never once have I been concerned about pushing myself too hard in my pregnancy or risk of injury because their attention to detail is so thorough. They allow me to push myself as far as I know I can go, and always provide alternative exercises when something comes up that I can’t do. If you want a CrossFit gym that prioritizes safety over everything else, this is the gym for you! Not to mention the community is awesome as well. I have felt included and welcomed since the minute I stepped foot in their doors! Great coaches, great owners, great tribe. I love Muddy Water!

10/10 recommend this gym. The focus is on functional fitness, nutrition and mindset coaching. James and Shandi make a skilled and knowledgable team. They will encourage and motivate you to accomplish your goals and become greater. They have created an environment in this gym that makes you feel like you are a part of the family as soon as you walk in.

James is a fantastic coach! He is very kind and respectful to everyone and knows how to scale each individual to fit their health goals. I've been on my health journey for over 10 years and feel pretty advanced and I still learn from him ways to improve. I see how he interacts with people of all health levels and makes let feel comfortable, I would give 10 stars if it were possible.

Great positive place to work out body and mind. I also like they have programs for the whole family. James is a great guy. He knows his stuff and has been a great source of help in learning what to do and how to do it. I knew some about lifting, but he has helped me learn more. I like that he works on the little details with each person workout.

Been working out with coach James for the past 3 months. The way he breaks down movement and helps understanding technique is awesome. Especially being brand new to functional fitness and Olympic lifting. I recommend doing a drop in and trying out a class or just to meet him. Big plus he keeps the place clean constantly sanitizing.

Highly recommend checking out this place! James and Shandi are phenomenal coaches. Shandi will talk with you about nutrition and give you good tips and advice on how to be more healthy and get the nutrients your body needs. James is the functional fitness coach and will push you in encouraging ways to constantly be improving yourself. Great environment in this gym where everyone is focused on competing against them self and getting new personal bests.
