Planet Fitness

This location is a disappointment. Needs a deep cleaning or just needs to be renovated. Was waiting to take a shower and a centipede came crawling into my stall. They lockers room just scream dirty. The ceiling above the showers are molding. The equipment are terrible I’m very disappointed in this location. With the black card membership increase provide a gym that’s worth it. Will be moving to a new location or canceling my membership. I only kept Planet fitness for the 24 hours convenience but the location makes it not worth it.

I came here 03/1 to work out with a friend. Lauderhill is my home gym. When I came I asked if I can make a payment, the young lady who was overwhelmed with other customers, took my payment and me and my friend proceeded to workout. The next day I notice Planet Fitness was attempting to take a payment out. I didn’t pay it much mind until I notice everyday the attempt on my account. So on 03/5 I called the Tamarac location asking what happened. The girl didn’t even bring up my account she automatically told me to call my home gym because that location isn’t able to take my payment, even though they did. I called my home gym and they referred me back to Tamarac. So I called and asked for a manager. The girl plainly told me, he won’t come to the phone. I’m like but it’s a situation that requires his attention. She repeated herself and said he isn’t in his office and I told him you are on the phone but he won’t come. She said it’s best I come in but I myself was at work at the time. She took my name and number so the manager can call me back, which he never did. This morning 03/6 I come to the gym and the two going ladies at the front desk deserves a raise or something. They listened to me, they empathized with me and they made sure to come with a resolution, which was for me to be refunded. They attempted to call my home gym to advise that they took my payment but that didn’t work. My home gym said they will reach out to Tamarac’s manager, Marlon. 15 mins or so later, he walks in, even though I was advised he doesn’t work weekends. The two young ladies explained to him my situation and he walked right passed me and into his office. 5 mins later, one of the ladies apologized and said they aren’t sure why he didn’t come to speak with me, so she goes to him and reminds him I’m here to speak with him. She then tells me he’s ready for me but by then I was on a personal call. When I was done he was with someone else so I waited. When they were done they both walked out the office and I approached him. I asked if he’s Marlon and he says yes but one moment then walks to the register. By this time my patience was gone and no form of courtesy was left in me. About a minute or two later he calls me to the register and says, so you want a refund, I say yes. He then hands me a refund receipt. Nothing more nothing less. I took the receipt and walked out. Not only is this gyms equipment rusted and outdated and some aren’t even operable but their manager is not customer friendly or oriented at all.

Went in there today to ask about my membership and the front desk person was extremely rude. Not only was she unprofessional but she could not explain the charges. I don’t recommend this gym. It felt like a DMV with workout equipment.

First time back in over a year and I have to say I felt comfortable and safe. Social distancing is in place and you do need a mask on when not actually working out. Well done I will be back again.

It would be nice if everyone that was wearing a mask put it over nose. Other than that friendly staff and nice management plenty of machines. Just use treadmill will lift a bit maybe in future do calisthenics on treadmill.

Love Planet Fitness. They provide weekly guest passes. This really helps me maintain my Fitness goals while traveling. So much variety of well maintained fitness equipment. Love the 24 hours which they are open. Sanitation stations are located throughout the gym IAW COVID-19 precautions. Of course, don't forget to wear your mask while working out.

The gym is ok in general. I think they should not be hiring school age kids for this kind of job or people who have barely customer service experience.They need to have more control about customer not wearing face masks. I justwent today and I saw that the problem of people not wearing masks is worst. There are many customers walking around without using them and the staff nor the manager do nothing about it. They're not even checking people's temperature right. Now they just point the thermometer gun to the air instead of people's forehead. I'm aboit to cancel the membership.

Staff is cool and cares about clean sanitized equipment and peoples health, also not to much wannabe gym bullies that try to show off with the heaviest weight. Its not about heavy your weight is , its your form and high reps that matter. But be my guess and do heavy weight lets see how you walk with a messed up back the next day.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This location is clean but the staff and Manger are providing the members with the inaccurate info when it comes to billing, cancelations. The staff at the Tamarac location has told members billing starts on the 10. This is not true. Billing actually starts on the 17th. The membership fee is withdrawn out of a checking out on the 17th of the month. 2) Cancellations: once a member cancels that is it. They can not use the gym facility again. This is not true.. The members can cancel at anytime. If they cancel before the 10th they do not have a membership fee for the next month. After a member cancels they have access to the gym facility until the 16th of the month. that does not matter on which date they canceled. They can cancel on the 20th and still have access to the gym facility until the 16th. The Tamarac location is the only location that is not explaining the policy correctly to the members. I have spoken with other Planet Fitness locations especially in the area. Their managers and staff all state billing is on the 17th of the month. Cancelations have until the 10th of the month not to be charged. Members have until the 16th of the month to have access to any Planet Fitness location after they cancel. So my question is why is the staff at the Tamarac location telling members the wrong info?

EVERYTHING! The very friendly staff, the atmosphere is laid back, it's very clean (they're checking temperatures still👍🏾) sanitary restrooms and showers. Plenty of space to workout and still be social distant. No longer need to carry a card to check in all hands free! The app is also very easy and handy. You can keep track of your workouts and you can scan a code to learn how to properly use the equipment, on a video, not just pictures and instructions. I'm very impressed with Planet Fitness, being a trucker I can literally workout at any of their gyms in the country! Their prices are also very reasonable for the quality! Especially Tamarac location this one is probably my favorite, I like the one on Powerline and McNab too!
