the exceptional love for jiujitsu/MMA that has the love of an ANGEL and the endurance of a LION …COACH VARGAS with Proving Grounds. He will help anyone who try’s. I should know my daughter is the proof. NOT KNOWING my teen daughters story …other experiences of jiujitsu she endured for a short time had a negative impact. She would not remember what she learned and felt hopeless. Hiding tears of frustration & humiliation grow every night. I had to do something I went straight to Vargas to see if she is really that incapable or is it the teaching? Well 3 months later Vargas got her in competitions and not only in teens now in adults as well. With all GOLD and UNDEFEATED COACH VARGAS and all whom teach there are wonderful people. Proving Grounds maybe big but Coach Vargas dojo is where it’s at.

Excellent Coach! My son was a member of this gym for three years. Coach Vargas was an amazing coach and mentor, and the gym members were very welcoming and supportive. My son learned life-long skills for competition in Jiu Jitsu as well as self-defense. He still visits coach whenever he is in AZ. Best experience he has ever had at a gym.

I’ve completed my first two classes with Instructor Vargas. Fantastic experience. I have played highly competitive soccer and did some minimal wrestling previously. Forget soccer conditioning. if you want to sweat and use muscles you forgot you had, then this is the place. 90 minutes and I got EXACTLY what I asked for. I learned technique, I learned to push myself in ways I didn’t know I could, and I was sore from the tips of my toes to my jaw. I LOVED it. I’m going to keep coming back because this is what I want to be good at and Proving Grounds has the knowledge, the discipline, and the care to take me where I want to go.

Best place in the West Valley to train! This is your chance to join a newer gym and get individualized attention from a superior coach and some of the best training partners around.Coach Ruben is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about helping people of all ages and experience levels truly better themselves through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA training. I travel from Mesa whenever I have the chance to learn everything I can.I love visiting this gym and have always been welcomed with open arms. Truly a place where the whole family can train and have a great time.Don't just take my word, go see for yourself!

My kids and I started training here a few months back after our other gym had closed. Everyone made us feel welcome and have had good attitudes. Instructors are knowledgeable and the training curriculum is structured well.
