I have been a client at Grit City Fitness for over 5 years. The owner, Jeff Jowers, has been my personal trainer all of that time. At almost 60 years old, I am stronger than I have ever been and I continue to reach new PR’s regularly. As a Deputy Sheriff still working the streets, strength and endurance are critical for me. Even at my advanced age, I can still run down 20 year old bad guys. I give Jeff all the credit for that. Jeff tailors each workout based on my fitness goals and can make adjustments on the fly based on my energy levels on any particular day. There are no cookie cutter workouts at Grit City and no two people receiving personal training from Jeff will have the same workout. Grit City offers a fitness program for anyone at any fitness level. If you are not looking for personal training, Jeff also offers group classes for both small and large groups all of which are at very reasonable prices. I really can not recommend Grit City Fitness enough. Give Jeff a chance and get yourself in the best shape of your life.

I've been coming to this establishment for 10+ years. The owner (Jeff) and his team have helped me reach every goal I've established throughout this time. Even though my goals have changed over this time period, they've been able to re-adjust accordingly and help set out what's needed to achieve and complete my end result.Very well educated and also informative. Don't hesitate to check this place out, these guys will take care of you in every aspect!

Been going to the this gym for about a year and it's been great! They really cater to your fitness goals. They meet you wherever you're at on your fitness journey and push you towards your goals without judgement! Everyone at this gym is friendly too, which is a plus.

I have been doing the Results Based Fitness and Team Training for the last 3 months and have been loving it! The workouts are always different and challenging. It's a great place to workout!

My relationship with GRIT CITY FITNESS AND PERFORMANCE is a life changer.I have never felt like I was part of a fitness community before coming here. I have never felt like my effort was meet with results before coming here.I am 37 years old, and this year is the first time I’ve understood my body’s needs and how to give it the best possible circumstances for health and wellness.I use Jeff’s virtual Team Training, Serena’s Superhero You and nutritional coaching. I’m forty weeks in to recording of nutrition and I don’t ever want to stop habits, nor my relationship with Grit.The virtual training is more than just watching a workout. You can workout live with the coaches... and Jeff is ridiculously good and concise with remembering/recommending substitute movements for your limitations or injuries, and very resourceful with helping you utilize the objects you already have in your home.I have many many many public Facebook posts about this place if you’re still on the fence about investing in yourself.Oh - and the generous outpouring of support and communication through several channels (fb,insta,email etc) is 24/7. They have really really found a way to personalize your health, while still keeping you part of the group. *********** updated 1/12/2021 9mths after the original post below.If I have ever thought myself anything, I thought I was anti gyms. I have walked out of more gyms than I can count, never to return. I have been asked by fitness coaches “what has kept you from joining a gym” and my answer was always “you”.I have walked INTO Grit City Fitness 3-5x a week now for collectively about 5months.I have shifted my priorities.I crave walking through their doors again and again and again. The community they have created doesn’t compare to anything I’ve experienced. Their motto shines through as we all get #bettertogether, even those like me who have purposely isolated from communities, clicks and groups.As I write this review we are in the middle of a quarantine for an international pandemic. Our routines are disrupted. Our hearts are heavy. So much uncertainty. These coaches have jumped, climbed, and continue to rise to the occasion to push us all as members, and openly welcome the public to stay with routine and challenge ourselves along with them, to remain positive, be creative, move with intention etc... so we will be more than ready to walk through their front doors once again.

If you want a good place to work out go here! The owners train you and they're very educated and they both take the time to teach you the correct way to work out and will do what it takes to help you get what you want out of a gym with the best results! I highly recommend this gym! This gym is the best in Pierce County hands down!

I have been going to grit city for over a year now. They offer a lunch express class that is perfect for me to do during my work lunch break. I love the coaches and that the workouts are different every day. It's a great gym with great people and I am glad i found it.

Grit city is more than just a place to work out and get fit, it's a community of awesome like minded people who want the best for everyone! Today's workout was a tough one, but Salim (one of the trainers) made it fun by adding some friendly competition at the end. It sounds crazy I'm sure, but once you go to grit city, you'll get hooked! I could go on and on but I'll leave it at this :)

I've been working with Grit City for four months. I have seen a significant reduction in size and increase in muscle and strength. I had a back injury and they have been working with me on improving my mobility and strength. My back pain is almost completely gone and I feel great. I'm so happy that I decided to invest in myself.
