Names Fitness Center, located at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, provides a range of fitness options for its users. This gym, open 7 days a week, is equipped with a variety of weightlifting and cardiovascular machines, accommodating both strength and cardio enthusiasts. The facility has recently been remodeled, offering an improved environment with up-to-date equipment and amenities like a full basketball gym. The center prides itself on cleanliness and helpful staff, making it a welcoming space for both intense workouts and casual gym visits.
Though it may cater more towards strength training, the gym provides enough options for different fitness goals. Despite its size, users generally find the availability of equipment satisfactory. However, the gym can feel crowded at times, and the equipment variety might not fully meet the needs of those focused on muscle endurance or flexibility exercises.

If you're not on the football team or a powerlifter, you may be disappointed by the surplus of weights and lack of equipment for muscle endurance and flexiblity type exercises. Fairly small for PLU's excessive student population

Though there is definitely more strength training than cardiovascular equipment, I have never gone to Names and been unable to find an open elliptical, bike, stair climber, etc.

Just got remodeled, so there's a huge amount of squat/ bench racks, dead lift pads, free weights, and machines for both weight training and cardio exercise. Full basketball gym inside as well.

Solid gym equipment. I'm not into the wimpy isolation machines but there isn't too many of those here. I love loading up those plates on the barbells and sending them for a ride! Got some good spots to do some heavy deadlifting. The foam rollers are nice to help out my sore body. Ill be back here over and over again.
