I’ve been doing the program for awhile, but it was very worthwhile to get feedback from an SSC. I picked up some great tips to dial in my squat, press and especially the deadlift. Thanks to Tyler and Jacob for their time.

Excellent coaching, no pushy sales tactics, clean facility, and no "B-S" science-based approach to barbell lifting. I came in with previous lifting experience and they really hammered down my poor form and got me where I need to be. They were also always flexible with our schedules. When we had to cancel our membership due to life changes, it was a quick painless process. You can't say the same for cancelling at other gyms that rhyme with brunch ;) lol. I am still using the cues and coaching I was given. It shows in my progress since I left. My overhead press is finally past 65LB after a long time staying stagnant, my deadlift is inching to be twice my body weight. Hope to return once life circumstances are more favorable. Thanks, Jacob & Tyler!

Shoutout to Tyler & Jacob at Starting Strength Tampa!Been training here for just over a month now. Came in as a total newbie, having little to no experience with barbell exercises. It's amazing to see the progress after even just a month with proper coaching from very knowledgeable and supportive trainers!Definitely still a work in progress but totally enjoying the process. It's a big thing to have very friendly trainers that know their craft and skills. Step-by-step coaching and steady, healthy progress go a long way when just starting out. And I really appreciate it!It's also very nice to have your own little space to lift in the gym. Very clean and well taken care of. My station is set and ready to go with the workout for the day when I come in. Flexible time schedules throughout the day are very accommodating and allow you to come in at a time best for you.If you're still looking for a gym to train in, whether totally new or experienced, Starting Strength Tampa is definitely your best choice! You'll love it here.

I am grateful to Mackenzie and Tyler Perkins for opening Starting Strength Tampa. My experience has been nothing but positive. Tyler is an excellent coach. I'm a "master," 64 years old, self taught and possessing a poor sense of self-movement and body position. Tyler never overwhelms me with corrections as we continue to refine my form, one or two bad habits at time. I have achieved lifetime personal bests for all lifts and have substantially recompositioned my muscle to fat ratio. Hypertrophy is a happy byproduct. I recommend Starting Strength without reservation.

If you want to make progress then hire Jacob. I have been working with him for two months and the return has been incredible. Numbers that used to be hard for me just fly up now and it is because of his coaching. He is a great coach and a cool dude. Work with him only if you want to get strong and have fun doing it!

Starting Strength trainers do an excellent job of getting you stronger at any age. We were visiting the Tampa area, and our Plano SS gym coach set us up with Jacob (coach at Starting Strength Tampa). He is awesome. If you’re wanting to get stronger, this is the place.

I first met Jacob at the Tampa Squat and Deadlift Camp back in October. It was a great experience. I was able to reconnect with him at the Starting Strength Tampa Meetup a couple months ago. I decided then to hire him as my online coach, and it has been a great time. It was well worth it! I have put around 30 lbs on my deadlift and bench press. Having someone who knows what they’re talking about really helps! If you are looking for a place to get strong, Starting Strength Tampa is the place to go!!
