Very welcoming staff. Dropped in for a workout expecting to pay and they didn't charge me. Great facility. Look forward to going back the next time I'm in Southington.

I came as a drop-in for a few days and felt very welcomed and integrated during my time at FA. I will most definitely be coming back here when I come back to town - it's hard to find a crossfit gym that is accessible and approachable, especially to drop-ins. The hours are great, and though I didn't get a chance to participate in their olympic lifting class - I have a feeling based on the direction of the coaches during their Xfit classes that it is well-organized and informative. This is a crossfit gym with solid programming, helpful coaches, responsive management, and great resources for its members. In addition to offering tons of classes and a wide open gym window, this box has so much space and equipment for its members to pursue fitness in how every way they want to. In addition to the main crossfit space, which is spacious and full of good quality equipment, there is a whole other end of the building that splits into both a cardio machine center and weightlifting hub (in addition to the stationary bikes, ergs, dumbbells, barbells, etc. provided in the main crossfit space).

Great place with amazing people. Whether you're there to lift, or join crossfit all the coaches are welcoming and friendly. The members there are also courteous of each other and personable. I would HIGHLY recommend this as your one stop shop for all fitness needs.

I am new to crossfit and i was intimidated to join crossfit, but I found this place and I couldn't have found a better place for me. From day one I felt welcome. The owners and coaches are motivating and encouraging and also making sure that I am using proper form. It is a very positive environment and I am looking forward to taking my fitness to the next level. I truly found my crossfit home here.

I live in Chicago and my family lives in Meriden, Connecticut. I come every summer to see my family and one of my friends is a member at Factory Athletics. The owner allowed my wife and I to join for the week and even extended our week a couple extra days. The owner and the members along with the coaches are fantastic. The owner would come over after each class I was there to say hello and chit chat with me. He even gave my wife and I recommendations for things to do for our visit at Block Island. When we come back next summer my wife and I will come back to Factory Athletics mainly for the great ownership, great coaches, and wonderful people at the gym. Thank-you for opening your doors to my wife and I! Shout out to Mark Mooney our friend for recommending us your gym and especially Bobby Vargo the owner! for opening up your gym to us

I have been a member of this amazing gym for a year and a half and truly enjoy coming to this gym everyday. The coaches are always encouraging and motivating so that you can be the best athlete. The owners are always there and truly care about their members. The facility is always clean and neat and welcome everyone of all abilities.

The application to the United States Military Academy consists of three parts: academics, leadership, and the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA). This assessment consists of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, a basketball throw, a shuttle run, and a 1 mile run. Out of each applicant who takes the CFA, almost 50% fail. In January of 2017, I met with Mr. Bobby Vargo at CrossFit Factory Square to discuss training for the CFA and took a baseline assessment. At this time, I was able to do 3 pullups, 25 pushups, and 40 situps. Over the next 6 months, Mr. Vargo and his team of coaches helped to mentor and train me to not only pass this exam, but to excel at it. Mr. Vargo also aided me to improve my diet, which led to a notable improvement in my daily attitude and my academics. Mr. Vargo, his team, and the CrossFit community helped push me beyond what I thought I was capable of, so that when June came and I took my CFA, I nearly tripled my score baseline in almost every event, reaching 11 pullups, 54 pushups, and 95 situps. On January 21st of 2018, I accepted my appointment to USMA. Without the help of Mr. Vargo and CrossFit Factory Square, I can confidently say that I would not be where I am today, and if I could go back in time, I would have joined CrossFit long before I did.

There are few things I look forward to more during my day then the time I get to spend at Factory Square. The owners and coaches are the best around. The care and respect that each of them has for every individual is what makes this place special. I can't imagine too many places that has a community like this. Its why I go and why I push myself more than I thought I ever could.

How many gyms can you walk into where you have a handful of coaches willing to work technique with you, even if they're "off duty"? I am so thankful for our coaches at CrossFit Factory Square. Despite what Crossfit critics say, these guys are proof that proper form is #1 and they're willing to spend their own time helping all of us out. Thanks Mike, Tony, Bobby and James! I'm determined to improve my row time!
