We started there when my son was 5. He had trouble in Pre-Kindergarten and had to leave that school due to unruly behavior, not listening, not following directions, and generally being bad. He enrolled at Kenpo 5.0 a few weeks after, and although it was a struggle the first few months because of his behavior, Sensei is AMAZING with children, and they hold steadfast to the principles of respect & the importance of focus. Discipline isnt heavyhanded, and it's consistent. The turn around for him has been epic. He has matured, never has meltdowns anymore, and is just happier. Since then hes been diagnosed with ADHD, et al. Due to karate, his personal & body confidence has skyrocketed. He trusts his body and has control of his actions and movements. If overwhelmed, he practices his stances and movements anywhere and it alleviates the anxiety. He will NOT need medication as its clear to those involved with him that he's learned to self-manage. He listens MUCH better and the implications are felt now in every context, including at school, parties, soccer, etc. We werent looking for an authority to yell at him, but an environment he enjoys that has rules. Like school! To say this studio is great is an understatement. We are so happy we found them and there's no doubt my son will be involved with this sport for life. Thank you Sensei Andy. We would tell you this in person but didn't want to get emo.

Great small dojo. All the senseis are personable, professional, and downright good at what they do, from kids to adults!

They really care about their students and try to motivate them to be better in life, not just in martial arts.

My son is 7 years old. He is right now level 1. Both of the Sensei is so polite and understand how to speak to their students (children) at his age. Directions are straightforward to understand for them. My son has been taught self-esteem, discipline, and most important Respect! He has grown so much and learned so many life lessons from being a part of martial arts.We love this place! I highly recommend this to any parent who wants their child to learn karate and learn discipline, respect, courage, confidence, and self-defense!

We are one year in now, with no end in sight. Signed up my son right after he had turned 6 years old in the midst of kinder homeschooling through the pandemic. We started with the free two week trial and knew right away it was a great choice! I've seen this make such a difference for my son's self-control, focus, and discipline. Once he went back to school half a year later, I got nothing but praise for his excellent behavior and respect to adults and others, and I know so much of this is thanks to the lessons that are instilled in this dojo. The sensei's are excellent in their practice and manners with students of all ages. They motivate, support, encourage, celebrate each child, and definitely call them out to get it together when they need to, but always with respect. 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
