Crunch Fitness - Abilene

Absolutely love this gym! The staff is great! Clean, great music, tanning beds and automatic massage chairs. Has all the gym equipment you’ll ever need. I even got personal training for the first time (after being an avid gym goer for 15 plus years) and it’s totally helped up level my gains. Love this place. Highly recommend.

Just signed up with them last night. I tried out the gym today and it wasn't bad. The employees are super friendly and very professional. The gym is smaller inside than what I thought it would be. The equipment is good. The gym stays busy. I went at a "slow" hour and there were still quite a few people inside. We shall see how this adventure is going to go. I love the 24/hr part. I am someone who likes going at all hours in which are not the busiest. I like it thus far!

Will never change gyms again? This was my first thought.I see constant new faces (staff). Actually there are always new employees makes you wonder why?? Not so friendly, I was always taught if you want to keep them coming back you give a friendly smile, a greeting and always know their name.In almost a year that I've been here i have never been approached by a personal trainer if i could get off of a machine so that he could use right in the middle of my reps. It was like my time didn't matter. Really offended he's new so I'll let it slide once. 5 star to 3.Add on : FYI I started to notice that crunch wasn't very clean and nobody was ever cleaning at least when I was there the bottoms of the polls looks like as if somebody had thrown up on it and never been wiped, so with COVID amongst us, just be aware they were becoming lazy and not too worried about sanitizing. People never wiped their machines etc. down after they were done (sweat everywhere) of the machines and I highly doubt they'll do it now guess people are who they are there other clean or dirty.

Zero cancelation fees yet they try to charge you a fee for your annual fee after you already paid the annual fees. If you are wanting a clean gym to workout at I highly recommended another gym. The staff just sits at the desk on there Phones instead of making sure the facility is clean. They can't even restock the paper towel dispensers........ Funny they can't find me in there system yet they had no issues finding it when I called, saying it's my bank causing the charges when it's directly from crunch them selves saying I owe what a great company..... On top of it the MANAGER is the one who canceled my contract and never mentioned anything about a 30 day notice with them. They need to hire new management and staff that can keep the facility clean I stead of being on there phones they could be restocking and cleaning the facility

My husband started going here after Icon closed. He just wanted a clean, safe gym to go workout at. Instead he got his locker tossed and $200+ stolen. Not somewhere I would suggest if you are wanting peace of mind that your personal items are safe. Staff didn't seem to be concerned or helpful in the least. Would NOT recommend.

A good selection of equipment and is pretty clean. I love their package with childcare! The training manager is awesome! I purchased the personal training package and was having trouble finding the right trainer for me and he made sure I was taken care of. They offer a great selection of group fitness and although they have wall-size mirrors but they dim the lights (which being overweight, I greatly appreciate). The massage chair is amazing after a workout.I only have experienced two issues: asking the staff for more cleaning supplies when it ran out and was ignored and I wish they had more back weight machines (I'm not a fan of free weights). So 4 stars because of staff attitude

The staff are extremely nice so far. It’s very clean. AND PACKED EVERY TIME I GO. I’m not a big fan of working out with a ton of people there but I have to get my workout in. It’s also a new gym so I’m a few months it will probably calm down....hopefully.This review will be acknowledging the good and not so good.EQUIPMENT-they have plenty of equipment, even with it being packed, your still able to do what you need to. Or only have to wait a few minutes.TANNING BEDS-I haven’t got to tan yet because I didn’t want to purchase $7 tanning goggles. Which I realize is not very expensive. But I found some online for $2...and after actually getting the membership and paying a few bills. I’m broke. HahaINFRA RED BED-same story as the tanning bed.MASSAGE BED-there’s only a few so they fill up pretty fast and then you have to wait. But they are very relaxing. You can control the pressure and what area of the body you would like massaged. As someone who has been to school for massage therapy...This bed is just for relaxing. It doesn’t get “knots” out. It’s not someone’s hands sensing they body and what it needs. Actual massages would still be good to get.SAUNA-IS ALWAYS PACKED when I go. It’s very brightly lit (I don’t like it like that but that’s just me). But it does get to a decent temperature..the door is made of glass and metal bars so it’s EXTREMELY hot when you try to leave. All the saunas I’ve been in have had wooden doors for that reason. But if they would just put some kind of cloth or padding it may help.OVERALL-I would recommend this gym. Mainly for the fact that there is no commitments with any of their packages. So when LIFE happens...your able to try to work something out. And like I said in the beginning, the staff are extremely nice.

We liked the gym It's nice and the employees are nice. However when we tried to cancel we got the run around. We are disputing the yearly fee that was added bc if we had been able to cancel when we needed to it wouldn't have been applied. We were told to call corporate and Crunch corporate office told us this was an independent location and they couldn't even pull up our information. Just frustrating.

Love this gym! Friendly staff who actually say hello, the music variety is great, love the sauna, and equipment is easy to use. I've had one issue whete the massage charts wete down but there was a storm outside. I don't dread going here!

Have had ongoing issues since I've signed up early and the problem still persists. The gym itself is very spacious, there are a ton of people that go, but that crowd should be thinning out pretty soon. It seems there's always one machine that's out of service, don't know what's going on with that. The staff are friendly, but I hardly deal with them except for check in. A majority of people that go there don't utilize the cleaning supplies to wipe down the equipment they've used, (not the gyms fault), or rack the weights they've used. It does happen in most gyms, although I don't think the staff ever says anything to anyone. The locker room always smells musty and doesn't seem like it's cleaned very well. I've been to over 10 different gyms in a few years and some are spotless and some are dirty, just depends on the staff. Overall they have a great selection of free weights and spots for Olympic lifts.
