Overall, I am pleased with this gym. Locker room is fairly clean, staff is friendly, large basketball court and a good assortment of equipment. What has turned me off recently is the gym's focus on personal training. During prime time hours (@5pm-7pm) , the large upstairs green space is reserved for personal training only. They outfitted the space with brand new equipment. A similiar space but significantly smaller, has been designated as the new streching/abs room, for the general gym goer. The room is just too small to accommodate the amount of people during prime time. The room is always packed with limited space and you feel like you're on top of the person next to you. You can't sled and plymoterics exercise are limited. Personal trainers still occupy the room even with the aftermentioned above, which even further restricts the space. The message being conveyed to members is that personal training has precedence over general members. The room was deemed too small for the personal trainers, Why is it any better for us? Meanwhile, our membership rates are still the same price and our membership value has decreased, since we have less access to the facility. I am far from the only one who feels the same way. I hope management considers an approach to address this issue or I will find another facility that provides better value for its members.

Very disappointed with the new changes to the gym. Removed my favorite area - the cinema room, as well as significantly reduced areas for free weights (upstairs and down). There is now a boxing ring in the weight area, as well as a whole room dedicated to punching bags? Not sure who decided on these changes (they weren’t communicated beforehand), but it’s clear they’re heading in a different direction. Wouldn’t recommend this gym for people who are looking for a treadmill/elliptical/weight workout, as it’s overcrowded in these areas now.

While the facilities and equipment are good, management and billing has been difficult to deal with. Last month the club charged over $700 to a wrong account (for the second time). This was after telling me that the account issue had been fixed the first time. We requested a refund and was told it could take up to 14 business days. A couple of emails to them during that time have gone ignored and it is now well beyond the 14 days and the refund still hasn’t been issued. This isn’t the first problem we’ve had either. At the beginning the club charged over $700 twice to my account and was very unresponsive as to how and when they were going to fix it. Essentially 3 months in a row with over $2000 charged inappropriately and very little communication from management on when they were going to return our money.**EDIT - a regional manager has finally replied to the email that has gone ignored and has stated that the refund only takes 3-5 days. So it appears that the refund wasn’t originally issued at all as they have stated. This has continued to be a very disappointing experience.

*Update begins*I had my first one on one with Tracy! Her individualized instruction offered great scaffolding and techniques unique to my learning style. We also went over machines several minutes after our one hour session. Can't wait for another!Blue's enthusiasm, attention to detail, and inclusive teachings really help build confidence!*Update ends*After spending days searching online for an authentic, affordable boxing training experience, I connected with Tracy, who manages the boxing studio, when I called One Life. I was super-pleased to learn about all that comes with membership.Tracy was professional and kind, taking the time to answer all my questions and scheduling me for a comple mentary group fitness boxing conditioning session.I came in the next day and was greeted at the entrance by Leeland, the most helpful assistant general manager, he even offered to go fill my water bottle bause I came in with a sore toe.I had my first class with Damian; amazing! (By the way, everyone has been super-concerned about my toe; offering a plethora of modifications for me!) Damian spent one on one time with me while still engaging the whole class and also offered to meet with me outside of class to catch me up. I was so impressed, I joined right away.Kenny, very warm-welcoming and knowledgeable, gave me a lovely grand tour. He signed me up for membership as well as a Smart Start with Luke the day after first coming in.Luke spent even more time with me than scheduled, and would like to meet again, as he reviewed my goals and went though my body diagnostic in great interactive detail with much zeal; such a fun monthly experience!I also met Frantz, the general manager who was so charismatic, we began to discuss collaborating to give back to kids in our community! Frantz really understands how to support his members' whole needs as we aim to get fit.Class with Blue the next day was, and continues to be, equally informative, rigorous, and fun! Ronny is a real life Rocky Balboa; such a treat! If kickass women motivate you, Tracy, a Muay Thai champ, and Shahana, who coaches other classes, are your ladies!!! I love training with Tracy! Class with Gittrell was super-upbeat, challenging, and fun!!!Clean, well kept, sanitary, and beautifully maintained.

I love Onelife! I love how they have so many classes everyday with lots of varieties. I've attended many classes so far and often amazed by the class quality! (especially zumba, yoga, and spin class!!)They know what they're doing!! Everyone is nice and they greet you when you come and go.They offer free personal training when you sign up a membership. My coach was Alex and he was great at what he does! He motivated me so much by teaching me right forms and what to do! I appreciated the offer🤗The gym is always clean, and the shower/locker room area as well!♥️ All the members bring out great energy here!!My only suggestion for Onelife Alexandria gym is...Please have more Zumba classes like Burke do..!I'm so tired visiting Burke/Ballston/Skyline/Woodbridge for Zumba classes since we(Alexandria) only offer two at this time(it's been like that for 9 months since I joined).I wish we have more classes like other locations.I'd very appreciate it if you guys make more schedules for great workout classes(not just Zumba but in general).I feel like we have enough basic styles of classes. I feel bored sometimes when I'm looking at our schedule on the app..😞 I hope you guys at least consider my suggestion😊👍🏼I just want to go to one location and feel satisfied! That's all!

My wife and I signed up for this gym about a year ago now. We wanted a change of scenery from Golds. One life was around the same price point and we liked what we saw when we visited. Fast forward to this past summer, one of our favorite areas of the gym (the turf) which was sold to us as a active space for all gym goers was being converted to a personal training area for peak hours (M-F 5pm - 8pm). So basically we were baited and switched. This changed forced a large portion of gym goes at peak hours to the main gym floor. When asked at the front about this we were told “the old personal training area is now open to all in its place.” Mind you this area fits about 6 people total in it. THEN! Just last month we saw construction and movement!!! Ah! Hope and change for the new year!!! Our hopes quickly turned to terror .... could it be??? WHY YES BRILLIANCE! A FULL SIZE BOXING RING ON THE MAIN GYM FLOOR!!!!!!!Who was the genius who decided to put this there?? More squat racks? More benches? More open space for the influx from closing the turf during the most busy times??? NO ... No no no. A BOXING RING!

This is a great gym with a large number of classes to choose from and excellent amenities that are kept clean! The recent addition of the boxing ring and martial arts classes make this a unique and inspiring place to work out. In addition to just burning calories and building strength, I can now learn some skills that may one day come in handy on the street or in a bar! Thanks Onelife, your collab with UFC Gym should make 2020 my best year of fitness yet!!

The locker rooms are often dirty. This gym is very crowded during peak hours (5 - 7 pm). Upstairs is often closed because it is used only for personal training. Recently, a boxing ring was installed in the main exercise area. In order to accommodate this new boxing ring, equipment has been moved closer to each other. These changes have significantly reduced areas for weight training.

Always friendly and helpful staff. Machines and equipment rarely down for maintenance. New additions (boxing studio and ring) add more options for advancing your work out along with well qualified training staff. Best gym in the area!

I’d like to start off by saying the staff is great. Scott and the rest of the folks could not be any friendlier and helpful. Have never had a negative encounter with any of them. Can’t thank them enough. However, I couldn’t agree more with the folks below. I joined this gym approximately 18 months and felt it was a bit crowded before. Although weirdly enough it’s an enormous facility, just not spaced properly. However, instead of lining up some hack squats, smith machines, or power racks, even calf raise machines (since they only have on seated), they decided instead to place a FULL SIZE BOXING RING on the main floor, cramming more machines together. As well as moving a very nice/spacious Spinning Room up to the 2nd level to a room half the size of the original; and using the large spacious room for heavy bags and more boxing and kickboxing classes Not sure why the identity crisis, but now the free weight section is crammed and not very useful.I was told by management that they “have had a lot of requests for kickboxing and boxing style classes which is why we added the UFC gym.” Which is fine, but to take up such large prime real estate on the main floor to place a ring is absurd. Compounded by the fact that I have not seen anyone using that ring the last 3 weeks I’ve been there, just leaves me dumbfounded.
