Car window got busted into and robbed on the morning of 1/11. Use to love this place. The fact I was parked up front in handicapped under light and the front desk did not see a thing let’s me no this is not a safe place for military personnel.

Planet Fitness is a general fitness gym. It is not a bodybuilding gym, a deadlifter-wannabe gym or a gym for hard cores. But it offers a lot. First, it is just about always open except for Christmas Day. Second, it is squeaky clean. Third, it has very clearly delineated membership levels on the web site with prices and levels of commitment (or no commitment). Fourth, the gyms are pretty standardized wherever you go in terms of equipment. That leads me to the fifth positive, that there are many locations, which is great if you travel, especially in larger cities where there may be several of them within a few miles of each other. I have been to facilities in Orlando FL , Alexandria VA and Florence KY. They varied in size but they were similar in the type of equipment. PF is more into the cardio aspect of fitness in my opinion. There are many cardio machines of just about any type. As for strength training, there are more fitness workout machines than dumbbells or bars - in fact there are zero free bars. There are Smith racks that have the weightlifting bar affixed to the frame (safer) and that's it for free bars. That avoids the "lunk factor, " as PF calls it, of would-be deadlifters dropping hundreds of pounds of weights with zero control, causing nothing but noise. But it also means a lesser workout for chest and shoulders IMHO depending on your routine. And you still have to deal with people staying on equipment too long, working out in packs and hogging the relatively small free weight area while they text or watch something on their smartphones. There is a "no cell phone" rule posted on the wall but I haven't seen enforcement. And there still are the muscle heads who pretend not to use the Smith racks for deadlifting while they deadlift and tie up one rack for an hour. Yes, they are here too. But PF makes fitness accessible and affordable for just about anyone. Classes are offered and there are separate areas for different workouts. They really do take away a lot of excuses to working out and I see a lot of people there who would never go to a traditional gym. So I applaud the PF chain. Just know what you want in a gym and don't expect extreme fitness (Pilates, Insanity classes, spin classes) from this franchise.

This is my first time with PF and the main reason I joined was because the fitness classes. I want to learn to use the equipment and use the proper form when doing the exercises. Tammi has been awesome, she has been training me and showing me how to use everything, she listens to you and explains everything you ask. I recommend signing for one of her classes, don't be intimidated about the work out she'll guide you through it.

Staff is friendly and outgoing. There are many times in which weights weren't removed from the Smith machines. Equipment is in good working order and variety is fair. Restrooms and machines are always clean. Never experienced a wait to use any equipment. There are plenty of cardio machines to choose from.

Gym is still relatively new. Clean. Plenty of parking. Morning staff is DEFINITELY more customer service oriented then the evening staff. In general, if you get there before 3 p.m. then you won't have to wait for any of the machines.

Today was my 3 week anniversary of joining Planet Fitness with my gal pal. We love (well as much as you can love working out...) coming to this Planet Fitness. We are greeted with a huge smile and hello (by name!!) by Olivia every morning. She starts off our day in an awesome way. The gym is so clean and smells clean. The machines are all in working order and spotless as well. We love being able to work out in a “real person” environment and it truly is a “no judgement zone.” Could not love Olivia more or this location. Thanks for making working out (almost) fun again, Olivia !!
