Location has been without a trainer since Sept 1. Love the gym otherwise but this is a downer. I like being able to do group classes and I am considering cancelling my membership. The only solution offered is to visit another PF location to use their trainer but you can only visit another club if you have the black card which is more than double the cost of the regular membership (which normally includes access to a trainer…).

All the misconceptions are just that. This gym has helped my lose weight in a healthy way, and sure-it may not be the gym doing it, but it is an incredible tool if used correctly. Give it a shot, see if you are ready to start a journey in fitness. If not, that's okay, but if so...Planet Fitness is a great place to start.

I felt judged every single time I entered this location... I even had an Indian/Middle Eastern girl harass me to sign in a second time and show her because she was being lazy one day and hanging out with coworkers in the back...I really don't appreciate evil eyes and harsh treatment from almost every single employee here...There was only one worker who didn't make me feel uncomfortable, a young girl with a crew cut and a genuine smile for everyone who walked in the door... The rest of the crew needs to drop their judgement before stepping in the doors... I won't be returning to this location for awhile and highly suggest against anyone else

Their business model is to get you to subscribe and then make it hard to cancel (cannot through app, or phone). The only upside of this gym is the price, but if you miss a payment the late fee doubles your payment. They certainly don't mind sending you to collections to ruin your credit rating, either.

A few months ago I posted a review about the unfortunate lack of cleaning in the restroom areas at this location. Well I was gone for a month and when I came back things were different. Congrats to the administration for what they have done. It's obvious that you guys take our opinions in consideration. Great job!

I am giving two stars because the young ladies who work at the counter are usually very nice. There is one young lady with long dreadlocks type braids who is very nice! The gentlemen are a bit standoffish though and they don’t always speak when you leave. So the reason I’m not giving four or five stars is because I am disappointed by the fact that this is the planet fitness that represents the University of Michigan area. You would expect it to be spectacular and a flagship location. It’s very busy because the college kids have to work out which is understandable, But unfortunately this gym seems unclean and outdated in the workout area and LOCKER ROOM. The men’s locker room is one of the filthyest I have ever been into out of any gym and I am not a tough critic. The floor Matting is turning colors and the lockers are rusty… they need to be painted or replaced and the flooring needs to be redone. The walls are dirty and dingy. Yes this location will see more traffic because it’s a University location, that also means this location makes more revenue lol, meaning it should be updated yearly in order to make it as beautiful as the big house and U of M level. I will advise the owner of this one to visit the new location in Plymouth Michigan on Main Street, it is clean and gorgeous and the air smells clean throughout the whole gym even in the bathroom. The air in the Ann Arbor Location feels Misty and thick. I’ll continue to visit when needed as I am in the city often and there’s good energy there, Once I see a change I’ll be willing to update this review but hopefully this will motivate the corporation to close it for a couple of weeks and give it a serious rehaul, visit the one in Plymouth Michigan!

The equipment is outdated and squeaky. But it's a good deal, however I told him I was leaving town they continue to charge me, and then when I tried to cancel it they said that they needed to certified letter from me because I wasn't anywhere near another planet fitness. So the deal is okay but you got to kind of watch them like a hawk.

I used to enjoy going here for months. Me and my fiancé had Separate platinum memberships and we would go to the gym at the same time. We were then told by one of the reps that it would make much more sense if we just canceled one of the memberships and both worked off of one membership. Upon canceling no one informed me that I must have my spouse with me in order to work out. I have been working out alone without my spouse for about two months because he went back to work. One day after arriving to the gym to relieve tons of stress that I had I was told by the manager that I was in the wrong for coming to work out alone and that I could no longer come to the gym and work out under the membership with those terms. Which I was OK with but I assumed she would still allow me to work out just for the one day. So as I'm walking over to the area to go stretch she literally comes over and says to me I guess you didn't get a clear understanding of what I was saying to you but you're gonna have to leave! How appalled was I because this could've been handled so differently… She could have easily let me work out for the one day and then said to me I cannot return without my spouse. Or she could have persuaded me or encourage me to get my own membership at that time. I would've been happy to get my own membership so that I can continue working out but after the embarrassment and the way she checked me it made me no longer want to go back to the gym so I guess I'll be going to the planet fitness in the Ypsilanti location

When this location opened back up following the covid shut-down, I called to cancel my membership due to not being comfortable in the gym for health reasons and also moving over an hour away. They told me I needed to send a letter. Since late 2020, I have sent multiple physical letters to cancel my membership and when I've called to ask why I've continued to be charged, I've been told it will be canceled but still, for the past year and a half, I have been charged every month. I'm not angry, just disappointed that I've been paying every month for a membership I do not use and have tried to cancel and when I talk to staff that answers the phone, I am brushed off. I liked this gym a lot when I went there consistently prior to covid, though.
