Staff is so friendly and helpful. Love that they are always busy cleaning the gym. Never have a problem getting on any of the equipment even with some of the machines closed down due to the social distance issue with the virus

My gym (Xperience Fitness) closed down on 6/30. On 7/15 I noticed I received a charge for $41.39 from Planet Fitness? There was NO communication that I was all of a sudden a Planet Fitness Member. I called Planet Fitness and explained my situation. I was told I would have to come in to cancel or write a letter. I went into Planet Fitness and spoke with Larry (“the manager”). Explained my situation and all he said was “sorry, I just work here”. Like my guy, you’re the MANAGER. I told him it was offensive that the company charged me $41.39 when memberships are either $10 or $25, and that I could not cancel over the phone. He said “I’m not going to do this with you, you can email Xperience with any issues”. My boyfriend tried explaining an email is not what we’re looking for. We’re looking for an apology and for him to note this for upper management so that it doesn’t happen to someone else”. He then proceeded to ask my boyfriend if he had a membership. When my boyfriend said no, he LITERALLY said “oh so you’re the dude on the sidelines.. you guys married or?” How rudeeee! Why does my boyfriends status even matter? He’s here to stick up for me because he cares. Larry is rude and so fake it’s funny. Have fun at Planet Rip-off 👌🏼

This location used to be such a great place to work out when it was an environment where anyone could feel conformable and it was never too crowded. It is now overcrowded because of Planet letting high school kids work-out for free and transferring Xperience Fitness members here as well. The Xperience people include some meat-head gym rats. The other day some Meat Head kept creepily watching me while I was doing strength training and then felt the need to tell me what I should be doing (I was doing the exercise correctly). Don't call yourself the judgement free zone if your going to automatically transfer body builder wannabees to your facility.

Explain to me Planet Fitness, at 3:30 in the morning on 08-17-23, why there is no employee at the counter, making sure people are checking in properly or at least making a presence in the gym? When there’s homeless and drug users walking around freely in and out of the gym without even checking in. (They go to the bathroom to use and sell, then leave.) That’s not a safe environment and totally unacceptable. [And during the entire time I was at the gym, I never saw an employee once, which I assume they locked themself in that back office.] This specific P.F. location is a known problematic area for drug users. Whoever was working on the morning of 08-17-2023 needs to be reprimanded. Next time this happens, I’m contacting the police, and they can handle it at that time in the morning. (FYI, this isn’t the first time this has happened.) Not a good look at all.

Planet Fitness does a great job keeping up with their locations, including this one. Don’t shy away from Planet because of their “no barbell mentality”, they’ve got dumbbells that go all the way to 85lbs. The front staff is always great, the facility is always clean, and everyone is very friendly with people just starting out their fitness journey. It’s a great spot for experienced and beginners in Appleton.
